Trump Formally Launches Board of Peace in Davos

Trump launches 'Board of Peace' at Davos signing ceremony | Euronews

President Donald Trump formally launched the Board of Peace on Thursday, signing the charter of the new international body during a high-profile ceremony that highlighted the administration's effort to reshape global diplomacy, with Gaza at the center of its early focus.

Trump sat at a table at the front of the stage as officials from Bahrain and Morocco were invited forward to sign and ratify the board's founding charter, with about 20 other leaders following and signing the document in front of a backdrop displaying the organization's newly unveiled logo, reports CBS News.

"The charter is now in full force, and the Board of Peace is now an official international organization," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said from the stage as she called leaders forward one by one to sign.

The Trump administration has described the board as a mechanism to implement and oversee a U.S.-brokered plan to end the war in Gaza and guide the territory's reconstruction, while also positioning the body to address conflicts beyond the Middle East.

During the ceremony, Ali Shaath, head of a U.S.-backed committee of Palestinian technocrats designated to help oversee Gaza's postwar administration, told attendees that Gaza's border with Egypt will open next week, reports The Times of Israel.

Shaath described the Rafah crossing as a "lifeline" for Gazans, saying that its prolonged closure has trapped much of the population inside Gaza and prevented many Palestinians who fled the fighting from returning home.

Under the terms of the ceasefire framework, Israel was obligated to reopen the crossing. Israeli officials have publicly opposed doing so until Hamas returns the remains of the last hostage believed to be held in Gaza, which the group has not yet done.

The ceremony followed remarks by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said Gaza is the board's immediate focus, and presentations by Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy, and Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law.

Kushner outlined a reconstruction vision that would require Hamas to demilitarize and transfer authority to a single civilian governing body, presenting slides labeled "New Gaza" and outlining what he called demilitarization principles.

The signing ceremony took place amid lingering tensions over Israel's role in the new body. Israel did not participate in the event, though officials have said it intends to join.

A spokesman for Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who is in Davos, confirmed that Herzog did not take part in the ceremony but declined to elaborate.

The structure of the Board of Peace has drawn scrutiny from diplomats and international law experts.

A draft charter circulated to national capitals in recent weeks grants sweeping authority to its chair, including veto power, control over the agenda and invitations, and the ability to dissolve the body and designate a successor.

The document specifies that Trump shall serve as inaugural chair.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, one of Trump's closest allies in Europe, publicly embraced the initiative after receiving an invitation to join.

"If Trump, then peace," Orban wrote on Facebook. "We have, of course, accepted this honorable invitation."

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Belarus, and Pakistan have also said they plan to join. Other U.S. allies, including France, Norway, and Sweden, have said they will not participate, raising concerns that the board could undermine the United Nations.

"This is a direct assault on the United Nations," said Marc Weller, a Cambridge University professor of international law who has worked on peace negotiations, calling the initiative an attempt to reshape the international system around a single leader, reports The New York Times.

The U.N. Security Council endorsed the creation of a Board of Peace in November, welcoming the U.S.-brokered plan to end the Gaza conflict and authorizing a transitional administration to oversee redevelopment through 2027.

But the Trump administration has since portrayed Gaza as only one component of a broader mission that would overlap with the U.N.'s traditional role in maintaining international peace and security.

"I wish the United Nations could do more," Trump said earlier this week. "I wish we didn't need a Board of Peace." Asked whether he envisioned the new body replacing the U.N., Trump said it "might," while adding that the organization still has significant potential.

Barron Trump Kept His Cool in a Dangerous Moment — Then Saved a Woman's Life

Barron Trump, the president’s very tall son, doesn’t spend a lot of time in the limelight, but it’s shining on him Wednesday as court testimony in London revealed that he helped a woman in desperate need and may have even saved her life by calling authorities on an abusive boyfriend who was beating her up.

He reportedly was on a FaceTime call with the unnamed woman when he heard clear sounds that she was being attacked. He didn’t call 911, because the woman was in England — so he figured out a way to contact their emergency number, 999.

It all happened on January 18, 2025, just days before his father’s presidential inauguration, but it’s in the news now because of the court proceeding. The creep was jealous of Barron:

Barron Trump spoke directly with a 999 operator when he heard what he thought was Russian national Matvei Rumiantsev repeatedly punching his friend in a flat.

Rumiantsev, 22, was jealous of the American's relationship with the woman and flew into a rage when he tried to phone her earlier that evening, prosecutors said.

He then answered a video call from the President's son on the woman's phone, showed Barron her face then grabbed her hair and pushed her to the floor, shouting 'you are not worth anything,' Snaresbrook Crown Court, in north-east London, was told.

Rumiantsev then kicked her while she was on the ground and screamed vile names at her. Hopefully, the British judicial system will have something extremely harsh to say about that.

He didn’t just sit there… he figured out how to contact British authorities immediately and reported the beating.

The victim literally credits Barron with saving her life. For the haters: Jurors heard the recording of the call in court. It is 100% REAL.

THE PRESIDENT'S SON: We *Finally* Know What Barron Trump Whispered to Joe Biden on Inauguration Day

45 Becomes 47 – but It's Two Young Trumps Who Grab the Spotlight on Inauguration Eve

“She called me,” Barron told the police. “I picked up the phone expecting a nice hello or something. I just saw the ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy’s head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit.”

The grateful friend said that if it wasn’t for Barron’s quick thinking, things could have turned out very differently (and much more tragically):

Giving evidence, the woman said: 'He [Barron Trump] helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.'

Rumiantsev has been charged with raping the woman on two occasions, assault, actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

The 19-year-old Barron faced a tough situation — but showed cool under fire. Nice work, young man.

Pure Gold: This 'Blue Lives Matter' Post May Reveal the Greatest Operation Against Anti-ICE Crews Yet

The anti-ICE crew is completely out of control at this point, trying to stop the enforcement of the law.

We've seen them do a lot of vile and disgusting things, from disrupting a church service in St. Paul, Minnesota, to launching racist invective at a black ICE agent because they thought they were better than him.

READ MORE: Wild: Anti-ICE Activists Disrupt Church Service Because They Think One of the Pastors Is an ICE Agent

Watch: Anti-ICE Crew's Off-the-Rails Harassment of Black ICE Agent Does Not Go According to Plan

It's crazy that ICE agents and other federal agents helping to enforce immigration laws have to put up with this mania and obstruction.

But it looks like folks who are anti-anti-ICE may be getting creative, as revealed in a post from Blue Lives Matter.

This may be one of the greatest posts ever about fighting back against the leftist insanity.

We're not saying that Blue Lives Matter was behind feeding false information to far-left, anti-ICE protestors.

We're not saying we had teams comprised of HUNDREDS of off-duty cops and veterans volunteer to run decoy operations so far-left activists THOUGHT they were conducting ICE raids.

We're not saying they were in fact they were just driving around in what appeared to be unmarked vehicles with tinted windows... drinking coffee and listening to Guns and Roses.... being chased down and surrounded by protestors.

They went on to write:

What we ARE saying is that if it DID happen.... it sure worked remarkably well in NINE DIFFERENT STATES, allowing ACTUAL raids to successfully take place unimpeded, helping support the capture of HUNDREDS of criminals.

Combat veterans, off-duty officers and patriotic Americans have had enough of the radical left... and are being activated across the country to back our #lawenforcement.  And they're smarter...more skilled... more driven... better trained than the left … and actually enjoy sitting in a deer stand for days on end just waiting.

@DHSgov @ICEgov we’ve got you.

They're not saying they did it, mind you. But boy, do I love this! And where can we sign up? You can also do things like spam the locations where ICE isn't to the ICE watch phone numbers, messing up their ability to track ICE, if you have a few spare minutes to mess with them.

Thank you, Blue Lives Matter guys (I mean, if it happened, that is...). Master level effort on behalf of us all, and good on you for putting in the time to help our country.

Can You Feel the Excitement? Kamala Is Back and in the Lead!

I warned you! It’s kind of hilarious, but a lot of folks don’t realize that the current number one candidate to win the Democratic nomination in 2028 is… not Gavin Hairstyle… not Alfred E. Buttigieg… not Jupiter B. Pritzker… not even Josh “Yeah Right, Democrats Are Gonna Nominate A Jewish Guy Who Won’t Apologize For It” Shapiro. It’s Kamala Harris. No, really, I’m serious.

“That’s crazy talk, Kurt. Why are you so crazy with your talking?”

I’m not crazy. The Democrats aren’t crazy, either – they are stupid and evil. I’m not giving them the insanity out – they need to own the sorry and degraded state to which they have devolved. But as wacky as it would seem to an outside observer, Kamala is not just in the mix. She’s at the top of it – she’s the froth on a defeat latte, and Democrats are about to gulp it down.

If you have doubts, that’s because you’re normal. After all, a normal person looks at Kamala Harris and sees a Chardonnay-sodden, cackling quarter-wit with a proven track record of failure. She not only famously lost the last election, but did so in such a way that, in a sensible party, she would be exiled to the political equivalent of Greenland before it became part of the United States.

Her first and most important decision in the 2024 election was legendarily dumb. She picked Tim Walz to be her running mate when she could’ve picked Josh Shapiro. I guess she had to nail down Minnesota for the Democrats rather than the swingiest of swing states, Pennsylvania. And more than that, her remarkable judgment led her to think that that mincing weirdo was going to win over all those male-identifying males who the Democrats have been disrespecting for the last few decades. Within the first couple of weeks, Governor Jazz Hands was revealed as a deployment-dodging, ChiCom-canoodling, show tunes-belting dork whose video antics trying to load a shotgun were the funniest thing to come out of his godforsaken freezer of a state until the recent video of Mogadishu West Mayor Jacob Frey pretending to enjoy forcing down a bowl of festering Somali swill. Of course, recently Tampon Tim was so wrapped up in the Somali fraud scandal he overlooked – putting it charitably – that he had to drop out of the race for reelection. That’s the guy she picked.

You had one job, Kamala, and you blew it – so to speak.

Her general election gaffes were the stuff of legend, including her inability to list even one thing she would’ve done differently from the human eggplant prior president, who held on to the power for as long as he possibly could, at least in part, because he absolutely knew his understudy would fumble the general election. Further, her campaign strategy was built on the reasonable notion that the more exposure human beings had to her, the more repelled they would be by her. She therefore avoided normal human beings and avoided interviews, and while this definitely hurt her campaign – Trump was everywhere, talking to everyone and doing hilarious and fun things like driving a garbage truck and working the McDonald’s drive-thru – one wonders if Kamala would’ve performed even worse with more exposure.

Signs point to yes. She comes off as stupid and annoying, which is a direct consequence of her being stupid and annoying.

But none of that matters because she’s a woman-identifying person of color. End of discussion. No, really, that’s it. That’s enough to win the election against the pale people o’ pallor who are her competition.

Every once in a while, somebody puts up a picture of her on Twitter and rants about how great it would be if she were president and not that mean old Donald Trump. This is either a result of people being stupid or thinking you are stupid. In fact, the biggest critics of Kamala Harris have always been other Democrats. They know she’s just an empty pantsuit that’s filled up with Franzia and commie nonsense.

But she’s got that black thing going, and that double X chromosome thing, too, and don’t underestimate those. After all, this is the Democrat Party. Besides her unequivocal willingness to perform any act of submission to the pagan pinko gods, those are the only things that matter. She’s black and female, and that gives her a massive advantage because that’s all her party cares about.

Gavin Newsom is a white guy, the Patrick Bateman of the West Coast. That’s not going to go over with the Democrat base real well, although there are professional Democrat voices who are pretty much saying, “Hey, we gotta stop this nonsense with the naggy chicks and get us a white guy, or we will never win again.” But you’ve got to understand who really matters in the Democrat Party. It’s not the pros; it’s the activists and black women, and neither of those groups is going to pass over a BIPOC uterus-haver in favor of a rich boy who is about as ethnic as a Romney.

The activists want somebody who’s literally too stupid and weak to oppose them when their idiocy gets too alienating for normal people. A guy like Gavin Newsom has an animal cunning that allows him to realize that there’s a line that regular people are not going to cross. He can fake moderation. Kamala can’t. She’ll recognize Hamas is the true government of Israel. She’ll give back Iran the bomb. She’ll hand over Taiwan to the Chinese and the Philippines, too. She won’t even bother with plausible deniability when she throws the border back open. When the activists rub the bottle, a gaseous Kamala floats out, manifests, and announces, “Your wish is my command.”

The black women, who have an outsized role in the party, just love her, and with South Carolina likely to be the first contest in the primary, they will be decisive in picking the nominee. Who’s going to compete with her gyn-noir bona fides? Pete Buttigieg is running about zero percent with black voters, a number that frankly seems a little high. The same with JB Pritzker – what’s the argument for this guy? “Sure, he’s not white, and he presumably has a penis in there somewhere, but on the plus side, he’s enormously fat?”

And Josh Shapiro? Yeah, the activists are going to just love a guy who opposes “Holocaust II: Electric Boogaloo.” Likewise, I’m sure all those black Democrat women – as well as the sexually frustrated white wine women – would just love somebody who’s Jewish in the sense that he practices Judaism.

In case you don’t understand me, I’m saying that antisemitism is a key component of the modern Democrat Party. Our side may be stuck with the occasional dummies like Candace Owens, but their antisemites are the rule and not the exception.

Now, according to one poll, Kamala Harris is leading at 33 percent, and in others, she’s also doing well. JD Vance seems to think she’s the likely nominee at this point, suggesting that it’s a fight between her and Brylcreem Boy to determine “the dumbest candidate.” Commentator Mark Halperin has her in the mix as well. But the most important take is from Kamala herself. She seems to believe that her book tour was a gigantic success and that she isn’t the ridiculous buffoon that she obviously is. Her ego and raw appetite for striving will push her into the race. Of course, this time she’s on her own. At every other juncture in her life, she’s been given political gigs by more powerful men pursuant to various arrangements. But no one will give her this one. She’s got to go take it, and that’s the problem for her. While she’s well-positioned to win the nomination thanks to her immutable genetic characteristics, she’s got a couple of big disadvantages.

She’s an idiot, and she’s a loser. But then, she’s a Democrat, so maybe they’re actually advantages.

Bad News: Abigail Spanberger Is Governor of Virginia. Good News: A Savior Might Be Waiting in the Wings

For conservative Virginians, four years of hell are upon us. The Democrats have the governor’s mansion, the lieutenant governor’s office, and occupy the attorney general's office. They got the trifecta, with total control of the legislature. A house of horrors is upon us:

Yet, there could be a Republican savior waiting in the wings: former Virginia AG Jason Miyare,s who was ousted by Jay Jones, the unhinged Democrat who wished to see anyone who disagreed with him and their families six feet under. Miyares has to wait until 2029, which was also his plan from the start, regardless of the 2025 election results (via National Review):

For those who know Miyares personally, this update was unsurprising. As soon as he decided to run for reelection last time around, his plan was to run for governor in 2029 regardless of the 2025 result, according to a person familiar with his thinking. And before leaving office, Miyares participated in several regional thank-you dinners across the commonwealth, during which he expressed appreciation for their support and strongly hinted that he’s likely to run for chief executive next go-round.

“I believe in Virginia and in our future,” he said in a video message to Virginians last week. “I’m not going anywhere. Because without a setback, there can be no comeback.”

Miyares’s interest in running to succeed newly sworn-in Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger also comes as no surprise to Virginia Republican donors, many of whom have long been expecting a 2029 gubernatorial run from Miyares and were disappointed when he decided to run for reelection as the commonwealth’s top prosecutor in 2025. Many donors and operatives saw Miyares as the only statewide Republican who could unite all factions of the GOP: from the grassroots activists and Trump supporters to the moderate business community and suburban voters.

Instead of Miyares as their 2025 gubernatorial nominee, Virginia Republicans were saddled with Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, an awkward politician who struggled to fundraise, excite the base, or find a consistent campaign message that could inspire voters like polished and wealthy first-time candidate Glenn Youngkin did in 2021.

[…]

Asked about his future political plans, former Miyares spokesman Shaun Kenney suggested that Democrats’ suite of ultra-progressive state legislative priorities have emboldened his 2029 political aspirations, even though that race is a long way off.

“I’ll tell you this, the recent proposed legislation from Virginia Democrats to raise taxes and make communities less safe has certainly galvanized his mood,” Kenney said.

We have a long four years ahead of us. Who knows if Virginia will even exist by the time Miyares runs.

Newsom barred from entering or speaking at USA House amid Davos WEF event

DAVOS, SWITZERLAND - JANUARY 21: California Governor Gavin Newsom (C) listens to U.S. President Donald Trump address the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Davos Congress Center on January 21, 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. The annual meeting of political and business leaders comes amid rising tensions between the United States and Europe over a range of issues, including Trump's vow to acquire Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

California Governor Gavin Newsom was reportedly barred from entering and speaking at a scheduled “fireside chat,” hosted by Fortune magazine, at USA House — a U.S.-linked venue in Davos, Switzerland — during the World Economic Forum (WEF) event on Wednesday.

USA House is an official U.S. venue in Davos where political and business leaders from throughout the globe gather for the WEF. It is a privately funded sidebar space supported by the U.S. State Department.

Newsom (D-Calif.) had initially been invited by Fortune magazine to participate in a fireside chat on Wednesday afternoon. However, shortly before the event was set to begin, USA House officials notified his team that they were canceling the session.

Newsom’s office blamed the cancellation on alleged pressure from White House officials.

“Under pressure from the White House and State Department, USA House (a church acting as the official US pavilion) is now denying entry to @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom to speak with media after Fortune — the official media partner — invited him to speak,” his press office wrote in a statement on the social platform X.

Additionally, according to Newsom’s office, a USA House official informed them that the he would not be permitted to address the media at the pavilion, stating that featuring an “elected official” did not align with the venue’s afternoon programming.

Newsom’s office was reportedly offered a 10:00 p.m. “nightcap reception” as a substitute, which would have been off the record with no press.

The White House dismissed the governor’s grievances in a sharp statement, asserting: “No one in Davos knows who third-rate governor Newscum is or why he is frolicking around Switzerland instead of fixing the many problems he created in California.”

Currently, the USA House is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States in Davos with speakers hosted at “a small number of marquee venues along the Promenade, including penthouses and historic locations inside and adjacent to the security zone,” according to their website.

Serving as a privately-funded hub for American executives and officials, the venue is supported by major U.S. companies such as Microsoft and McKinsey.

Before the incident, Newsom had publicly criticized European leaders at the WEF for what he described as insufficiently challenging Trump’s policies following the U.S. President’s address at the event.

While Fortune magazine confirmed it had issued the invitation to Newsom, they noted that USA House ultimately chose not to host his participation.

Trump Calls Out Global Elites: America’s Burden Can't Be Ignored

YouTube video player

President Trump walked into the World Economic Forum in Davos and told the truth that too many polite politicians have been hiding for decades: he recounted blunt phone calls with French and Swiss leaders and declared plainly that the United States is “keeping the whole world afloat.” That reminder — delivered to a room full of global elites — was not theater, it was leadership, and Americans who pay taxes and shoulder the burden should be proud someone finally said it out loud.

He didn’t hedge when talking about Switzerland: Trump said he initially slapped a massive tariff on Swiss goods, pushed back when their leader objected, and noted that Switzerland “made $41 billion on us,” before dialing the rate back because he didn’t want to destroy their economy. That anecdote isn’t about malice, it’s about leverage — using tariffs to get fairer treatment for American workers and taxpayers instead of letting foreign industries get rich off U.S. consumption and protection.

Trump also made clear that he used the same leverage in conversations with France, pushing hard on drug pricing and trade until he got results — the kind of tough negotiating the country needs after years of being taken advantage of by allies and rivals alike. Conservatives understand that strength and reciprocity, not meek apologies, secure the best deals for the American people and lower costs at home.

Equally important was his reminder about defense and burden-sharing: he highlighted how U.S. military power underpins Western security and noted that, until he forced the issue, many NATO partners were not paying their fair share. That’s not chest-thumping, it’s fiscal common sense; a nation that pays most of the bill for global security has every right to demand allies step up — and to leverage economic policy when they refuse.

Predictably, elite commentators have cried foul, calling the remarks crude or undiplomatic, but their outrage only proves the point: Davos types have been happy to benefit from the American bargain while lecturing the American people on morality and internationalism. The real scandal is their hypocrisy; the president’s blunt talk is a corrective to decades of Washington weakness and performative virtue signaling.

Hardworking Americans aren’t asking for war, they’re asking for fairness — fair trade, fair burden-sharing, and a government that defends their interests first. Trump’s Davos message was a reminder that putting America first doesn’t mean abandoning the world, it means ending the one-way subsidy of foreign economies and securing a future where our workers and soldiers are respected and rewarded.

Air Force One Return Exposes Major Flaws in Presidential Safety Plans

YouTube video player

They tried to brush it off as a “minor electrical issue,” but when Air Force One had to turn back to Joint Base Andrews in the middle of a transatlantic flight, it was a national-security wake-up call — and Greg Kelly rightly hammered the point on his show that the president deserves an aircraft that actually works and keeps him safe. Ordinary Americans understand the basic bargain: when our commander-in-chief flies, the aircraft must be mission-capable and uncompromised, not a rolling liability that invites risk.

The facts are plain: President Trump’s flight to Davos was forced to return after a brief electrical problem; the president later continued his trip on a different plane, a C-32, while technicians sorted things out. This kind of equipment failure is exactly why pilots, mechanics, and leaders must stop pretending that “close enough” is acceptable for presidential travel.

Meanwhile, the long-running Air Force One replacement program has been a disaster of delays, rising costs, and workforce shortfalls at Boeing — a company that should be a source of pride but has instead become a cautionary tale about mismanagement and dysfunctional procurement. The VC-25B replacements are years behind schedule and billions over budget, creating a dangerous gap between the president’s needs and available, secure transport. Americans who pay the bills deserve accountability from both the contractors and the bureaucrats who let this happen.

Adding insult to injury, the so-called stopgap plan of accepting a gifted Qatari 747-8 has experts warning about massive retrofit costs and potential security vulnerabilities; turning a luxury jet into a secure presidential platform is neither cheap nor quick. The idea that a diplomatic gift can replace a vetted, purpose-built transport for the commander-in-chief should set off alarm bells in Congress and at the Pentagon about mission assurance and foreign influence. No president should be flying on an airplane that introduces avoidable risks.

This is not petty politics — this is common-sense national defense. If the corporate titans and the military bureaucracy can’t deliver, it’s time for American innovation and muscle to step in and solve the problem immediately, not years from now. President Trump has even pushed to accelerate delivery and explored private-sector help to get the job done faster; that kind of urgency is the only responsible answer when a leader’s safety is on the line.

Patriots should demand hearings, investigations, and a no-nonsense timeline to guarantee a reliable presidential fleet — now. Call your representatives, insist on oversight of Boeing and the retrofit plan, and stop the Washington habit of shrugging at failures that put our country at risk; protecting the president is not a partisan luxury, it is a solemn duty to the American people.
