Steel Union Members Embrace Trump at Pittsburgh Rally

Trump secures major endorsement from Pennsylvania steelworkers: 'Saved all of our jobs' | Fox Business

Even though the United Steelworkers union endorsed Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris, many of its members showed up for former President Donald Trump's rally Monday night in Pittsburgh.

"Those guys back there," Trump said, pointing at spectators wearing hard hats behind him at PPG Arena, "I took some pictures with a few of them, and they were hugging and kissing me. I [jokingly] said, get off me.

"Look at the size of those arms. They never kissed a man in their life. You know why? Because I put tariffs on China dumping steel in the United States, and every one of those guys is working now … and their steel plants are open. And I was just starting."

Unions typically have long been a key part of the Democrats' coalition, but several unions that backed President Joe Biden in 2020 have not backed Harris, including the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which passed on an endorsement in part after polling of its members showed more support for Trump, as did the International Association of Fire Fighters.

"The rank-and-file [steel union members] loves Trump," the former president said in a rally simulcast on the Newsmax2 streaming platform. "The other guys are sort of like there's something strange going on. But I don't care. It doesn't matter. I don't want the other guys; I just want these guys.

"The steel union, they were all going to go out of business. If I didn't put those tariffs on, there wouldn't be one steel plant in this country open, and that's a business we need. … It was a 50% tariff. I would have lifted it higher, but [China] practically stopped. And all these steel mills are open today because of what I did."

Who You Gonna Call? Trump Reveals Who He Will Phone on First Day in Office

The Fat Lady has not sung yet, and it’s not over till it’s over, but Donald Trump stands a very good chance of being reelected as president of the United States on Tuesday.

If he succeeds in winning back his old job, he will pick up the phone the first day and call… the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum. And it won’t just be to chit-chat and trade niceties—Trump said he will inform her that he will immediately impose massive tariffs unless she does her part to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into the U.S.

'I haven't met her, and I'm going to inform her on Day One or sooner, that if they don't stop this onslaught of criminals and drugs coming into our country, I'm going to immediately impose a 25 percent tariff on everything they send into the United States of America,' he said he would threaten.

The remark earned cheers from his rally crowd in North Carolina.

Watch:

Although liberals were predictably triggered by Trump’s tough talk, he wasn’t backing down:

'They wanted $3 billion to meet,' Trump said, in a possible reference to the Department of Homeland Security's request for $3 billion from Congress to combat the migrant surge.

'They wouldn't have said that with me. I would have said, okay, you want $3 billion to meet? I'd do the opposite. If you don't give us $3 billion, I'll impose the biggest friggin' tariff ...'

Then he threatened to ratchet it up even higher. 'If that doesn't work, I'll make it 50, and if that doesn't work, I'll make it 75. Then I'll make it 100.'

He described the tough language he would use.

'You stop letting people come in through our border, and come in through your southern border, and you stop it' – perhaps acknowledging that many of the migrants had also crossed illegally into Mexico.

Then Trump claimed he wanted to wait until Monday, the day before the election, to roll out the idea, saying it was to prevent rival Kamala Harris from stealing it.

That last line cracked me up. The only decent ideas Kamala Harris has proposed have been direct and obvious rip-offs of Donald Trump. (See: no taxes on tips.)

The left loves to make the border issue all about racism, xenophobia, and hate. What they mask with their inflammatory rhetoric are the real security and economic concerns. You simply can’t let in millions of illegal immigrants—many who haven’t been vetted—and, in the same breath, say we’re secure. It doesn’t pass the smell test. Meanwhile, you also can’t simply expect the economy to absorb all these newcomers without a price. We’re all paying that price as more and more money is allocated to deal with the influx.

It's not "anti-immigrant" or racist to point out that there are major issues:

Heartbreak: The Human Cost of Kamala Harris' Border Policy

Trump is 100 percent right on this one—this problem needs to be solved, pronto. If he has to use charged language to get there, then so be it. The Harris-Biden regime has purposefully abandoned their duties, and if Trump wins Tuesday as we hope and pray, it’s time to put an end to this malarkey.

NEW: Missouri Sues DOJ Over Poll Monitors

It's a contest between federal might and a state's right as we head into the waning hours of the 2024 election. The Department of Justice announced that it would be sending lawyers out to 86 polling locations in 27 states to monitor them on Tuesday.

But some of those states are pushing back, including Missouri, which filed suit against the DOJ on Monday challenging the feds' right to have monitors in place.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft on Monday filed a lawsuit against the Justice Department in an attempt to prevent federal officials from monitoring polling locations in St. Louis on Election Day.

Ashcroft in a statement accused the Justice Department of "attempting to illegally interfere in Missouri's elections" after the DOJ announced that it would oversee polling locations in in St. Louis, one of 86 jurisdictions in 27 states that the department will monitor on Election Day "for compliance with federal civil rights laws in elections," according to a DOJ announcement issued on Nov. 1.

"The law clearly and specifically limits who may be in polling places and this action by the DOJ is not allowed," Ashcroft said.

"The secretary of state's office has full confidence in our election authorities. Voting has been underway for several weeks and we are ready for Election Day. I want to personally thank all 116 local election authorities and the thousands of poll workers across Missouri who make our elections safe, secure and credible," he added.

Missouri isn't the only state raising objections to the DOJ monitoring announcement. Both Texas and Florida have taken issue with the practice as well.

In a letter to the Justice Department on Friday, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson said wrote that “Texas law is clear: Justice Department monitors are not permitted inside polling places where ballots are being cast or a central counting station where ballots are being counted.”

“Texas has a robust processes and procedures in place to ensure that eligible voters may participate in a free and fair election," Nelson wrote.

In a similar letter Friday, Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd told the Justice Department that Florida law lists who is allowed inside the state's polling places and that Justice Department officials are not included. Byrd said that Florida is sending its own monitors to the four jurisdictions the Justice Department plans to send staff to and they will “ensure there is no interference with the voting process.”

The complaint, brought by Ashcroft and Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, Assistant U.S. Attorney General Kristen Clarke, and the DOJ, and filed in the Eastern District of Missouri, lays out the crux of the issue in the first paragraph:

For the second election cycle in a row, the Department of Justice, at the 11th hour, has announced an intent to displace state election authorities. Absent exceedingly clear federal authority, the States “keep for themselves … the power to regulate elections.” Shelby Cnty., Ala. v. Holder, 570, U.S. 529, 543 (2013) (cleaned up). To secure elections, Missouri exercised that traditional authority by enacting a law that strictly limits who, besides voters, can be present in a polling location. Poll monitors employed by DOJ are not on that list. Yet without specifically citing any federal authority authorizing its actions, DOJ announced on Friday November 1 its intent to displace Missouri law and place unauthorized poll monitors in polling locations in the City of St. Louis.

As alluded to in the complaint, this isn't the first set-to between the state and the DOJ. In 2022, a similar scenario unfolded ahead of the mid-term elections.

Feds Threaten 'Oversight' in at Least One Missouri County on Election Day

The suit asks the court to declare the DOJ's proposed actions as "arbitrary and capricious, or otherwise contrary to the law" and to enjoin the DOJ from taking the proposed actions.

Bailey issued a statement on X/Twitter regarding the suit:

BREAKING: I filed suit against the Biden-Harris DOJ for sending unauthorized poll monitors to Missouri polling locations.

The law is clear that @KamalaHarris can’t just send unvetted individuals into our polling places.

It’s illegal and undermines trust in our elections.

A hearing was set for Monday evening before U.S. District Judge Sarah Pitlyk (a Trump appointee), who presumably will rule on the matter sometime Monday evening. RedState will continue to monitor the matter and provide updates as they become available.

North Carolina Election Preview: Early Voting Tea Leaves, Trump's Ground Game, and More

It's hard to believe that we're just a few hours away from it officially being Election Day, but yes, we've finally made it to that point.

In North Carolina, there has been a distinct buzz in the air on the Republican/conservative side since early voting started on October 17th, with GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump's push for Republicans to take advantage of early voting spurring early vote numbers for the party not seen in previous election cycles.

The difference was pronounced enough that it caused a full-blown panic for the Harris-Walz campaign, which was aware from past elections that early voting has typically been the strong suit for Democrats, not Republicans. Further, there has been much angst on the Democrat side of the aisle regarding the black vote in North Carolina, which lagged but made up some ground in the closing days of early voting.

North Carolina had 17 days of early voting, which ended Saturday. Here are some demographic data points to munch on from the in-person early voting numbers:

Presidential race

Here's more info/analysis from Jim Blaine, an avid numbers cruncher and former chief of staff for State Senate Leader Phil Berger (R):

▶️UNAs overtook REPs on final day to 'win' EV

▶️Story of EV is DEMS missing ~270K voters from 20

▶️GOP leads DEMs by ~40K in EV

▶️Comparing 24 EV to 20 EV, GOP has net ~300K advantage over DEMs (GOP up ~30K from 20 + Dems down ~270K from 20)

▶️Breaking with historic EV pattern of DEM dominance dating back to 2008, our models indicate Trump will be tied or have a very slightly lead in combined mail and in person EV

▶️GOP has between 30K and 60K more Election Day and high propensity voters who have not voted than Dems

▶️Dems have between 60K and 100K more low propensity voters who have not voted than GOP

▶️Black turnout is down in raw vote and share of EV

▶️Dems must turnout low propensity voters on Election Day to give Harris a chance to win NC

Donald Trump, JD Vance, and their surrogates have spent a lot of time in key counties, both before and during early voting, which no doubt has contributed to the surge in EV numbers for Republicans.

Of course, a lot of data we've been seeing from the various states including North Carolina has been crunched with the thought in mind that most if not all of those in the D and R camps will stick with their respective political parties at the ballot box.

But one thing people should keep in mind is that there is still a segment of registered Democrats in the South who vote for Republicans. While it's unclear exactly how many might have voted for the Trump-Vance ticket in North Carolina, if the Democrat turnout in early voting wasn't where Dems wanted/needed it to be, losing just a few thousand Democrat votes on Election Day to Republican candidates potentially could spell disaster.

On a related note, as veteran Democrat political consultant Thomas Mills explained, unaffiliated voters overall, "are older with almost half over 55 years old, meaning they probably lean pretty heavily Republican." For the record, at this point, there is essentially a three-way tie as far as voter registration goes:

First Congressional District Race

The other race to pay attention to in North Carolina that has big national implications is the First Congressional District race (located in eastern NC), which I wrote about in detail earlier. This is the lone House race in the state that is considered a "toss-up" thanks in part to recent redistricting.

The nominees are first-term Rep. Don Davis (D) and retired Army Colonel Laurie Buckhout (R). While some of the demographics of the district have changed due to redistricting, it still has a large black population, which Democrats are counting on to bring the district home again for Davis. Buckhout, meanwhile, has been endorsed by Trump and seeks to turn red a seat that has been blue since 1883.

But Democrats have to be concerned considering of all the Congressional races, the two that had the lowest turnout were District 12 and District 1:

Further, a reliable GOP source pointed out to me that the "2024 Electorate compared to 2020 for the new First Congressional District is 10 percent less Democrat, five percent more Republican (that's a 15 percent swing), five percent more Unaffiliated, and six percent less Black voters through early voting."

If they can't make up some ground on Election Day, Democrats may lose that seat and, possibly, any chances of winning back control of the House along with it.

Relatedly, what we see happen in that district could be a bellwether for how the state goes in the presidential election, as data analyst Kyle Kondik noted in a "races to watch" opinion piece for the New York Times:

A Davis loss would be a blow to Democratic hopes of winning a majority and would be consistent with Trump winning North Carolina, while a Davis victory — particularly if the margin is not that tight — may suggest Democratic troubles with Black voters were overstated.

As the old saying goes, though, it ain't over 'til it's over (no matter how many fake narratives the MSM wants to push). Meanwhile, if you haven't already, go do your thing and vote!

The Liberal Media Is Seething Right Now Heading Into Election Day

It’s a crazy town, folks. Donald Trump has never been in a better position to win this election, but it will be close, at least that’s what the polls say. The only poll that matters now is the one that reads the result of the 2024 election. Yet, the liberal media has become unspooled, along with the Democrats. We have ads alluding to some unicorn notion that there is a Kamala groundswell—a shoddy take on the shy Trump voter of 2016. Liberals think there are shy Kamala supporters—that’s pure fantasy.

Trump had a marathon rally circuit today, where Megyn Kelly endorsed the former president in Pittsburgh. She famously had an adversarial attitude toward Mr. Trump in 2016, but that’s how insane the Left has become since then. To no one’s surprise, Joe Rogan endorsed Trump during the rally.

Over at MSNBC, Rachel Maddow spoke about Elon Musk’s contracts getting pulled, Van Jones spilled how nervous he was about Pennsylvania on CNN, and Dana Bash seemed irritated that Kelly would endorse the former president. Joe Scarborough still cannot get around why voters support Trump. CBS News’ John Dickerson gave a lecture you can watch below—all of this is so boring. No one cares what you have to say, guys. Your credibility is in the toilet. We all know you’re godless Democrats. You’re corrupt liars who did their best to prop up Kamala, and she still looks mentally challenged.

It’s a cope and seethe exercise for liberals, and if this is how they’re reacting on election eve, imagine what they’ll be like if Trump wins the election:

How Bad Will Kamala Do With Muslim Voters Today?

Michigan could be in play due to Muslim voters and young black men not being sold on Kamala Harris. It’s quite the turn of events for a party that tries to smear the GOP as old, white, and racist. Muslim voters were either backing Trump or a third party—they’re not overwhelmingly voting for Kamala as they did with Biden four years ago. If Kamala had the intellectual capacity, she could turn this around because while the Gaza war is complicated, there is a way to thread a message that doesn’t lead to these disastrous results.

Even CNN guests who are Arab Americans admit their circles aren’t voting for Kamala. Muslims in Michigan said they’re not voting Democratic, and there’s nothing Kamala could do to change their minds about that.

The Harris campaign floated an Israeli arms embargo when she took the mantle from Biden in an intraparty coup, which wasn’t believable. No one thought that was serious, which led to Kamala’s campaign doing damage control soon afterward.

Now, as we all vote to decide who will be the next president, one Dearborn voter captured what many likely think about this woman:

"I don't want to put somebody on the seat that's really not looking out for humanity. They say they are, but they're just looking for votes at this point,” he said.

It's not the best thing to hear, but we’ll see how things turn out.

Joe Rogan Endorses Trump, ‘I Agree With Him Every Step Of The Way’

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has endorsed former President Donald Trump the day before the presidential election.

On Monday, Rogan posted his endorsement on X while promoting his interview with Elon Musk.

Rogan said, “I agree with him every step of the way.”

“For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump,” he added.

The great and powerful @elonmusk.
If it wasn't for him we'd be fucked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.
For the record, yes, that's an endorsement of Trump.

— Joe Rogan (@joerogan) November 5, 2024

The endorsement comes after Trump made an appearance in a nearly three hour episode of the “The Joe Rogan Experience” on October 25th

“He gave me the nicest endorsement,” Trump had said, referring to Musk, who endorsed the 45th president shortly after he was nearly assassinated at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally in July.

“You should do the same thing Joe because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you,” Trump told the podcaster.

During his rally in Pennsylvania on Monday night, Trump acknowledged the endorsement, thanking Rogan for his support.

“I have some more big news now. I’m just getting this right now,” the Republican nominee told his crowd of supporters. “So somebody that’s very, very respected asked me to do his show two weeks ago, and I said, ‘Why not?’”

“And to me, it’s very big because he’s the biggest there is, I guess, in that world by far … And his name is Joe Rogan and he’s never done this before. And it just came over the wires that Joe Rogan just endorsed me,” Trump said.

“That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that,” he added. “He’s not a person that does endorsements, but he did an endorsement. So I just want to say Joe Rogan, Elon Musk and Megyn [Kelly], thank you very much.”

As of Monday night, Trump’s interview with Rogan has reached over 45 million views on YouTube.

Megyn Kelly Joins Trump On Stage At Second To Last Rally Before Election

Republican presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump greets media personality Megyn Kelly at his campaign rally at the PPG Paints Arena on November 04, 2024 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly joined former President Donald Trump on his second to last stop before the November 5th election.

Kelly joined Trump during his Pennsylvania stop on Monday night.

The conservative media personality first mentioned how she loves to prove Mark Cuban wrong, referencing comments that Cuban recently made regarding his belief that Trump has never been surrounded by “intelligent women.”

“Let me tell you, first of all, one of the reasons why I wanted to come here, one of the many reasons I wanted to come here,” she said. “I really enjoy this feeling of proving Mark Cuban wrong! As an intelligent woman.”

She went on, maintaining that Trump is a “protector of women” and soon after, began reciting the names of a number of American women who have been murdered by undocumented migrants under the Biden-Harris administration.

“President Trump launched the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative, the first-ever whole-of-government approach to women’s economic empowerment that has reached 12 million women worldwide.” He also “established a task force to help combat the tragedy of missing or murdered Native American women and girls,” according to Women For Trump group.

Kelly later noted that Trump will keep women safe by keeping biological males out of women’s “sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms.”

“He got mocked by the left for saying he would be a protector of women,” she said. “He will be a protector of women! And it’s why I’m voting for him! He will close the border! He will keep the boys out of girls’ sports and where they don’t belong!”

“And you know what else? One more thing. He will look out for our boys, to our forgotten boys and our forgotten men. Guys like you. Guys like these guys. Who got the calluses on their hands? Who work for a living with the beards and the tats. Who maybe have a beer after work and don’t want to be judged by people like Oprah and Beyoncé, who will never have to face the consequences of her disastrous economic policies,” she concluded.
