Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga. |
In stumping Saturday night for Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., President Donald Trump warned against permitting Democrat firebrand Jon Ossoff to win the Jan. 5 runoff election.
"David's opponent Jon Ossoff is a radical left wing zealot," Trump told his large and raucous rally crowd in Valdosta, Georgia aired in full on Newsmax TV, adding Ossoff "was very proud to be endorsed by [Sen.] Bernie Sanders, crazy Bernie.
"Ossoff supports defunding the police, supports the crazy Green New Deal. That's another beauty."
Ossoff has been one of the most well-funded Democrats in the country in past failed campaigns.
'Jon Ossoff Is a Radical Left Wing Zealot'
"Ossoff will be a complete tool for the radical left donors who are trying to buy the Georgia Senate seats," Trump added. "Did you see the money these people have raised?"
Incumbents Sens. Perdue, R-Ga., and Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., face challenges from Democrats Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in runoff elections that might determine the balance of power in the Senate.
Republicans already hold 50 Senate seats, but if Democrats sweep the two Georgia runoffs and Joe Biden wins the White House, the vice president casts the deciding vote in a 50-50 tie.
"Ossoff and Warnock are the two most extreme, far-left, liberal Senate candidates in the history of our country," Trump said. "And you got them both at one time. How did that happen?
"You must go vote, and start early, starting Dec. 14 – you have to do it – they cheated and they rigged this presidential election, but we will still win it," Trump told a large Valdosta, Georgia, rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax TV. "We will still win it.
"And they're going to try to rig this election, too."
