222 Republican Congressmen Won't Say Biden President-Elect

The Democrat's new President, Wow what a pick 😝

An overwhelming majority of congressional Republicans won't acknowledge Joe Biden as the President-Elect, according to a Washington Post survey.

The survey was taken the morning after President Donald Trump posted a 46-minute video claiming he'd won the election and alleged "corrupt forces" were trying to steal his victory. Just 25 out of 222 Republicans acknowledged Biden's win.

Ninety percent of Senate and House GOP members have yet to say who the winner is. The Post survey asked lawmakers three questions: Who won the presidential contest, do you support or oppose Trump's continuing efforts to claim victory, and if they will accept Biden as the legitimately elected president if he wins the electoral college majority.

Only 8 Republicans said they support Trump's claim of victory.

The survey also found that 11 of 52 Senate Republicans acknowledge Biden's win. Out of 14 House Republicans who recognized Biden as the winner, six will be retiring from politics later this month and two others represent districts that Biden won.

GOP Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., who worked with Biden on the "Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot” proposal, called Biden the president-elect and promised to work with the new administration shortly after the election was called by most news outlets on Nov. 7.

Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., did not acknowledge the win until Nov. 21, after a federal judge rebuked the president's legal team's challenges in Pennsylvania. After that, he congratulated Biden and declared that he'd won.

Meanwhile, GOP Reps. Paul Gosar of Arizona and Mo Brooks of Alabama are the only members of their party to publicly insist Trump won the race.

The non-response to the survey contrasts with Democrats in 2016, when Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on the day after the election was called for Trump, took a call from him and shortly after issued a statement congratulating him as the president-elect, notes The Post.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Tuesday said that the "future will take care of itself" and would not comment on the president's claims of voter fraud.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Thursday said "let's wait" to see who is sworn in before answering questions about executive orders Biden could issue in his first days in the Oval Office.

The Post said the non-reactions mirror how there have been just a few critics of Trump over the past four years, and said the silence leaves them standing alone while other federal, state, and local party members are rejecting the president's claims.

Trump: 'Jon Ossoff Is a Radical Left Wing Zealot'

Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga.

In stumping Saturday night for Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., President Donald Trump warned against permitting Democrat firebrand Jon Ossoff to win the Jan. 5 runoff election.

"David's opponent Jon Ossoff is a radical left wing zealot," Trump told his large and raucous rally crowd in Valdosta, Georgia aired in full on Newsmax TV, adding Ossoff "was very proud to be endorsed by [Sen.] Bernie Sanders, crazy Bernie.

"Ossoff supports defunding the police, supports the crazy Green New Deal. That's another beauty."

Ossoff has been one of the most well-funded Democrats in the country in past failed campaigns.

"Ossoff will be a complete tool for the radical left donors who are trying to buy the Georgia Senate seats," Trump added. "Did you see the money these people have raised?"

Incumbents Sens. Perdue, R-Ga., and Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., face challenges from Democrats Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in runoff elections that might determine the balance of power in the Senate.

Republicans already hold 50 Senate seats, but if Democrats sweep the two Georgia runoffs and Joe Biden wins the White House, the vice president casts the deciding vote in a 50-50 tie.

"Ossoff and Warnock are the two most extreme, far-left, liberal Senate candidates in the history of our country," Trump said. "And you got them both at one time. How did that happen?

"You must go vote, and start early, starting Dec. 14 – you have to do it – they cheated and they rigged this presidential election, but we will still win it," Trump told a large Valdosta, Georgia, rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax TV. "We will still win it.

"And they're going to try to rig this election, too."

Trump: 'They're Going to Try to Rig This Election, Too'

President Donald Trump delivered a stirring rebuke of the "rigged election" as he campaigned for Republican senators left to fight for Senate control in the Jan. 5 runoff elections, which he warned Democrats are going to try to "steal," too.

"You must go vote and vote early starting Dec. 14 – you have to do it – they cheated and they rigged this presidential election, but we will still win it," Trump told a large Valdosta, Georgia, rally Saturday night, which aired live on Newsmax TV. "We will still win it.

"And they're going to try to rig this election, too."

Incumbents Sens. David Perdue, R-Ga., and Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., face challenges from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Rev.

"At least you have two beauties, and you know what you also have two beauties running against them, but beauty in a different way," Trump told a raucous crowd of Republican supporters. "They're two beauties, but there's never been a case where a state has this prominence on the Senate races, because they're never together.

"This is something that's very important, and you have to get out you have to vote. You have to make sure you have every vote counted. Everybody vote has to count. You got to make sure they don't throw away any ballots. You got to make sure that when they collect the ballots – they're bragging about how many ballots they have already collected – you've got to make sure your secretary of state does what the hell he's doing.

"And you got to make sure your governor gets a lot tougher than he's been. He's gotta get a lot tougher."

Trump seemed to admit remaining in the White House is an uphill battle, suggesting Vice President Mike Pence would not be the one casting the deciding vote in the next Senate if Democrats win a 50-50 Senate split with a Jan. 5 sweep.

"At stake in this election is control of the U.S. Senate, and that really means control of this country," Trump said. "The voters of Georgia will determine which party runs every committee, writes every piece of legislation, controls every single taxpayer dollar.

"Very simply you will decide whether your children will grow up in a socialist country or whether they will grow up in a free country."

He added later, "if the other side manages to steal both elections, we will have total one party socialist control. And everything you care about will be gone. Your whole philosophy is going to be gone."

The crowd broke out in a "Stop the steal" chant, before Trump added: "But we're working hard to ensure that it doesn't happen, and now they're trying to steal these two important Senate seats from Georgia."

In addition to other voting irregularities in Nevada, the Trump campaign said that tens-of-thousands of people voted twice.

On Thursday, Trump campaign attorney Jesse Binnall told a judge that over 40,000 people voted twice, while 20,000 voters did not have a mailing address and roughly 2,400 voters had an out of state address.

The Trump attorney also said a local news station found that 1,500 ballots were cast under dead people’s names.

Additionally, Binnall argued that voting machines in Clark County lacked proper security. This information emerged during the Trump legal team’s hearing in front of a state judge on voter fraud.

“The questions are how did this happen? Who is responsible?” Binnall asked. “And what do we do about it?”

While addressing the court, Binnall said early policy decisions made by state election officials ultimately set the state up for failure, even months before the election ever took place.

“It was not an unforeseeable problem,” Binnall added. “It’s a problem that people were making clear all along. That there was going to be issues if we didn’t take robust efforts in order to make sure that every voter was only voting once.”

Binnall specifically highlighted changes to general election procedures that took place before November. These changes removed restrictions on mail-in voter registration. He said that legislators’ decision to adopt AB4 “took us to a system of universal mail voting at pretty much the last minute.”

Back in August, Democrat Governor Steve Sisolak signed AB4 into law in response to the pandemic. He promised a fair and accessible election.

Due to the new policy, the number of mail-in ballots cast increased from 6,300 in 2016 to more than 690,000 in 2020. Come Election Day, the wave of mail-in ballots on top of record-high in-person turnout overwhelmed poll-workers.

“As a result, there was a system that was ripe for the picking when it came to fraud,” Binnall claimed. “And the fraud came.”

Binnall also mentioned that poll workers went on to restrict meaningful access to Republican poll watchers, which made them unable to monitor and ensure the accuracy of the counting process.

“Election officials planned and implemented an election system that would be highly susceptible to fraud,” Binnall said. “It would ignore the best practices developed over the years and skew meaningful observation.”

The President’s campaign has argued that the push for election integrity supersedes any political agenda. He stressed that upholding the integrity of American democracy is the primary goal of their legal battle.

“Transparency is not political, transparency is something that is necessary for us to have a democratic election,” Binnall emphasized. “So that we know it is the candidate chosen by the voters that is the one actually elected.”

Judge James Russell said he wants to review all of the evidence presented and will make his decision Friday.

WaPo: Biden's Team Blocked From Meeting With US Intelligence Agencies

Joe Biden’s transition team has been blocked from meeting with U.S. intelligence agencies by President Donald Trump’s administration, reports The Washington Post.

Trump has for weeks delayed approving the start of a formal transition as he contests the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Several news outlets have called the race for Biden and some states have certified the results for the Democratic candidate. Newsmax has not projected a winner.

Trump’s government on Nov. 23 authorized Biden to begin a formal transition process after Michigan certified Biden as its winner. He still vowed to persist with efforts to change the vote.

The Biden team, though, has been prevented from holding meetings with the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency and other intelligence agencies, according to the Post.

He has been able to meet with the CIA and other agencies not tied to the Pentagon.

Sue Gough, a Defense Department spokesperson, denied there has been any issue.

"The DOD Agency Review Team has not been denied any access," Gough said in a statement. "We continue to work with the DOD ART to schedule all requested interviews, briefings and updates."

Trump Campaign Files Lawsuit in Georgia to Overturn Result

President Donald Trump has filed suit in Georgia claiming the election process was filled with “significant systemic misconduct, fraud and other irregularities” resulting in “many thousands of illegal votes” being cast and counted.

The suit was filed in Georgia on Friday on behalf of Trump and David Shafer, a presidential elector pledged to the president. The suit named Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and a slew of local elections officials.

It is asking the court to prevent certification of the results and order a new presidential election.

The suit claims:

  • The election code mandates that those wishing to vote by absentee ballots may apply for a mail-in ballot “not more than 180 days” prior to the election. But it alleges the officials permitted at least 305,701 people to illegally vote who applied for absentee ballots more than 180 days prior to the election and then improperly counted the illegal votes.
  • Officials allowed at least 92 individuals to vote whose absentee ballots, according to state records, were returned and accepted prior to that individual requesting an absentee ballot.
  • The officials mailed at least 2,664 absentee ballots to individuals prior to the earliest date permitted by law.
  • Respondents unlawfully adopted standards to be followed by the clerks and registrars in processing absentee ballots inconsistent with the election code.
  • Despite the legal requirement for signature matching and voter identity verification, the respondents failed to ensure that such obligations were followed by election officials.

The lawsuit also claims the officials violated Georgia law and the election code, along with state election board rules and regulations.

“The fraud, misconduct and irregularities that occurred under the ‘supervision’ of (the) respondents are sufficient to place the contest election in doubt,” the lawsuit said.

"As a result, there is substantial doubt as to the outcome of the contested election, and the contested election ... shall be enjoined, vacated, and nullified and either a new presidential election be immediately ordered that complies with Georgia Page 52 of 64 law or, in the alternative, that such other just and equitable relief is obtained so as to comport with the Constitution of the State of Georgia.”
