A Major Lie From the Secret Service About the Trump Assassination Attempt Just Got Busted

US politicians demanding Secret Service answers after Donald Trump assassination attempt - ABC News

The Secret Service is hiding in the bunker. They haven’t held a press conference on the July 13 assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. There’s been a code of silence on his harrowing and historic event, and we know why: they got busted for peddling a lie. Shocker—but we have another Biden-era scandal emerging, one where the agency appears to have hidden from the public because there was no spinning what was inevitably going to be asked by the media: the allegation that the Biden Department of Homeland Security denied requests for more resources. After initially denying it, the agency finally had to admit this was true.

The Washington Post and New York Times confirmed it. However, it was The Federalist’s Sean Davis who first reported that a source told him this was the case in the initial aftermath of the assassination attempt against the former president. It only adds to the incompetence of this administration, along with dousing the fires of a cover-up. At this point, there are too many coincidences, security failures, and now lies to dismiss this narrative outright (via NYT):

The Secret Service acknowledged on Saturday that it had turned down requests for additional federal resources sought by former President Donald J. Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination last week, a reversal from earlier statements by the agency denying that such requests had been rebuffed.

Almost immediately after a gunman shot at Mr. Trump from a nearby warehouse roof while he spoke at a rally in Butler, Pa., last weekend, the Secret Service faced accusations from Republicans and anonymous law enforcement officials that it had turned down requests for additional agents to secure Mr. Trump’s rallies.

“There’s an untrue assertion that a member of the former president’s team requested additional resources and that those were rebuffed,” Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said last Sunday, the day after the shooting.

[…]

On Saturday, Mr. Guglielmi acknowledged that the Secret Service had turned down some requests for additional federal security assets for Mr. Trump’s detail. Two people briefed on the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, confirmed that the Trump campaign had been seeking additional resources for the better part of the time that Mr. Trump had been out of office. The denied requests for additional resources were not specifically for the rally in Butler, Mr. Guglielmi said.

U.S. officials previously said the Secret Service had enhanced security for the former president before the Butler rally because it had received information from U.S. intelligence agencies about a potential Iranian assassination plot against Mr. Trump.

[…]

The service never held or took part in a public briefing the night of the shooting, while other law enforcement officials held a news conference a few hours after the fact. The service did not hold a public briefing to answer questions in the week after the assassination attempt.

The Washington Post added

Top officials at the U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional resources and personnel sought by Donald Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, according to four people familiar with the requests.

Agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty teams at other outdoor events, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive security discussions. The requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency, who cited various reasons, including a lack of resources at an agency that has long struggled with staffing shortages, they said.

Those rejections — in response to requests that were several times made in writing — led to long-standing tensions that pitted Trump, his top aides and his security detail against Secret Service leadership, as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president.

The Secret Service, after initially denying turning down requests for additional security, is now acknowledging some may have been rejected. The revelation comes as agency veterans say the organization has been forced to make difficult decisions amid competing demands, a growing list of protectees and limited funding.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is set to be grilled on Monday by House Oversight. How was the rooftop where shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired shots at Trump was left unprotected? Why wasn’t it swept before the rally? Why wasn’t a Secret Service drone in the air? How could Crooks fly his drone around the rally area before the attack? Finally, Trump says he wasn’t informed of the threat against him before the rally, adding the Secret Service never told him before he took the stage. The agency was aware of a threat against the former president ten minutes before the start of the event:

The Secret Service got caught lying.

Ford pivots from EV plans to heavy-duty trucks at Canada facility

An aerial view shows Ford’s Oakville Assembly Plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada May 26, 2023.

DETROIT (Reuters) – Ford Motor (F.N) on Thursday outlined plans to use a Canadian plant it had earmarked for a future electric vehicle to instead build larger, gasoline-powered versions of its flagship F-Series pickup truck.

Ford in April had already delayed the launch of the planned three-row electric SUVs at its Oakville Assembly facility from 2025 to 2027, citing slower than expected growth in EV demand. It said on Thursday it remained committed to those EVs and that timeline but did not say where they would now be built.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker plans to add capacity for 100,000 F-Series Super Duty trucks at the facility, including the ability to use what the company called “future multi-energy technology.”

“Super Duty is a vital tool for businesses and people around the world and, even with our Kentucky Truck Plant and Ohio Assembly Plant running flat out, we can’t meet the demand,” Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a statement. “At the same time, we look forward to introducing three-row electric utility vehicles.”

Growth in EV demand globally has slowed, causing market leaders like Tesla (TSLA.O) and BYD (002594.SZ) to cut prices to stimulate sales, and legacy automakers like Ford and General Motors (GM.N) to pull back on many of their lofty battery-powered goals.

Ford, which lost nearly $4.7 billion on its EV business in 2023 and has projected it will lose up to $5.5 billion this year, said in February the next generation of EVs would be launched “only when they can be profitable.”

GM on Monday declined to reiterate its previously announced forecast that it would have 1 million units of electric vehicle production capacity in North America by the end of 2025.

Legacy automakers continue to benefit from long established factories for their gas-powered vehicles, making them more profitable than their EV models, said Sam Fiorani, vice president at research firm AutoForecast Solutions.

Ford has increasingly leaned into production of hybrid vehicles to win over consumers who aren’t ready to go fully electric. The automaker aims to quadruple hybrid production over the next few years.

These lucrative F-150 heavy-duty trucks, which are especially popular for the automaker’s commercial business, are also produced at assembly plants in Kentucky and Ohio.

The company plans to invest about $3 billion to expand Super Duty production, including $2.3 billion to install assembly and integrated stamping operations at the Oakville Assembly Complex.

The expansion will initially secure approximately 1,800 jobs at Oakville, Ford said, and result in the addition of about 220 jobs at engine and component plants after that.

Canadian automotive union Unifor was relieved to hear Ford plans to ramp up production at the assembly complex ahead of schedule.

“This new retooling plan for the Oakville plant addresses our union’s concerns with Ford Motor Co’s decision to delay new vehicle production for a period that was too long, too disruptive, and too harmful to accept,” Unifor National President Lana Payne said in a statement.

Ford’s commercial business has been a profit engine, especially as the automaker burns cash on EV production and development. The company is betting on software-related services in its commercial division to drive profits in the coming years. The unit had operating profit margins of almost 17% last quarter.

Ford and GM are scheduled to release second-quarter results next week.

Utah Governor Cox Endorses Trump In Reversal

President Biden Hosts Dinner For Nation’s Governors Gathered In D.C. For National Governor’s Association Winter Meeting WASHINGTON, DC – FEBRUARY 11: U.S. President Joe Biden listens as National Governors Association Vice Chair, Governor Spencer Cox of Utah delivers a toast during a black-tie dinner in the State Dining Room at the White House on February 11, 2023 in Washington, DC. President Biden hosted the dinner as governors gathered in Washington for the National Governor’s Association Winter Meeting.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox has endorsed Donald Trump in a reversal of previous statements he has made about the former president.

Cox (R-Utah.) posted his endorsement for the 45th president on Friday following the failed assassination attempt on Trump.

“Mr. President, I know we have some differences, and you probably don’t like me much. And that’s OK,” Cox wrote in a letter to Trump. “I’m not writing this letter looking for a position in your Cabinet or a role on your team.”

“I have told everyone that you are going to win the state of Utah and you are going to win the presidency again. You don’t need my help and support to do that. However, you have a chance to do something that people have said is impossible,” the governor continued. “You have a chance to build a coalition of support that our country has not seen since Ronald Reagan. You, and only you, can be that kind of leader for us today.”

Last Sunday I was feeling incredibly discouraged about our nation. After much prayer and searching about how to help heal our divides, I felt I needed to write former President Trump. I’m hopeful I can help in some small way. pic.twitter.com/RBOgFTHE39

— Spencer Cox (@SpencerJCox) July 19, 2024

The governor had previously been critical of Trump, including blaming him for the January 6th event calling on the former president to resign, saying it would be “good for the country.”

He also had previously stated in February that it would be a mistake for the party to nominate Trump again for the presidency.

On July 11th, just two days before Trump was shot in the ear during a Pennsylvania campaign stop, Cox told CNN‘s Kaitlin Collins that he would not be casting a ballot for any major party nominee in the 2024 election. As he did in 2016 and 2020, the governor said that he would write someone in instead.

However, Cox said that after the assassination attempt, he was “grateful” to hear Trump call for unity and to “lower the temperature.”

“There’s a willingness to try,” Cox said during a press conference Friday. “That’s all I can ask for and hope for. So, I told him in that letter, I said if you’ll do this, I will do everything I can to help and support you.”

The Utah Desert News reported that Cox wrote Trump on Sunday and stated that he would only make his support public if he was pleased with the 45th president’s convention acceptance speech. He then said the speech delivered was a “winning message” that the country “desperately needs.”

VP Harris Tries Calming Jittery Dem Donors: 'We Are Going to Win'

VP Harris Tries Calming Jittery Dem Donors: 'We Are Going to Win' | Newsmax.com

Vice President Kamala Harris assured major Democratic donors on Friday that the party would win the presidential election as more lawmakers called for her running mate, President Joe Biden, to stand down.

"We are going to win this election," she said on a call arranged on short notice to calm unsettled donors, according to a person on the call. "We know which candidate in this election puts the American people first: Our president, Joe Biden."

The call came after Biden vowed to continue in the 2024 race and the Democratic Party planned to accelerate his nomination. At least nine Democratic lawmakers called on Biden to drop out on Friday, joining many more who've done the same in recent days.

Reuters reported that several of Biden's campaign fundraisers were put on hold, citing multiple Democrat sources involved in the events, as donors threatened to withhold funds from the campaign.

Donors were called to join the 30-minute briefing "to discuss urgent, emerging needs," according to a copy of the invitation seen by Reuters.

Harris attended the call "at the direct request of senior advisers to the president," one of the people said, an account confirmed by another person familiar with the matter.

Pressure is growing to have the 81-year-old Biden end his reelectin bid amid rising concern about his age, health, stsmina and mental acuity. Harris' name has emerged in many reports speculating on frontrunners to replace Biden at the top of the ticket for the November election against GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump.

Biden Tweets About Trump's RNC Remarks, Reveals One Reason He's in So Much Trouble

Given Joe Biden's issues, it often sparks the thought, "Who is running things?" since Biden seems not to know what is going on so much of the time.

Biden is now "isolating" in Rehoboth Beach, allegedly with COVID. As we noted at various spots coming back from Las Vegas to Delaware, Biden was not wearing a mask, and he had trouble even getting into a car at one point.

But just after 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Biden (or the intern who tweets from his account) began posting a slew of things about watching former President Donald Trump's RNC remarks because he was sick. If that were true, why didn't he post about it on Thursday during the remarks? Why did he wait to post until now? The thing is, I think he/his team is trying to convince people that he's up and not asleep after 8 p.m. So that's really funny. Even though I say "Biden," assume from here on in I also mean whoever is running his account:

I’m stuck at home with COVID, so I had the distinct misfortune of watching Donald Trump’s speech to the RNC.

What the hell was he talking about?

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

"I’m stuck at home with COVID, so I had the distinct misfortune of watching Donald Trump’s speech to the RNC.What the hell was he talking about?" Biden said. He was trying to deflect from his own incoherence, and to pretend that Trump has the same problems he has. No, Joe, sorry, projection doesn't work; the problem is all yours.

Then he posted a thread full of lies. I'll hit on the highlights.

Here, he lies his head off, claiming that Trump told people to "inject bleach":

Let’s start with this. Donald said he “did a great job” with COVID.

Folks, this is the same guy who told us to inject bleach while over a million Americans died.pic.twitter.com/Ex0dOgPHqV

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

Trump, of course, never said that. That's a lie that Biden keeps saying, despite it being repeatedly debunked. But that's Biden; he doesn't care about the truth. The other lie in there is "while over a million Americans died." No, most of the million who died of COVID died under Joe Biden; that was with the vaccine, and with more knowledge. Biden is just spewing nonsense, when more people died under him.

Biden also lied about Trump wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare:

Donald claimed he’s “going to protect Social Security and Medicare.”

This is a flat-out lie, folks. Trump proposed cutting Social Security and Medicare every year he was in office.

And he’ll do it again.

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

Trump has repeatedly said he would protect Social Security and Medicare. Indeed, it's Biden who has taken actions that have affected Medicare Advantage. So once again, this is blaming Trump for something he's doing.

Biden claimed that Trump gave the "biggest tax cuts ever" to his billionaire buddies, and that "his Project 2025 agenda would raise taxes on the middle class":

He bragged about giving “the biggest tax cuts ever” to his billionaire buddies.

But the deal is that his Project 2025 agenda would raise taxes on the middle class.

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

This is more lying. First, Trump's tax cuts helped most Americans, it benefited the middle class and working class Americans the most. Meanwhile, Biden wants to stop those cuts that Trump put in place and therefore, would raise taxes on most Americans. And Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025, no matter how many times Biden or his minions lie about it:

He said he’ll end inflation, but even the Wall Street Journal published an article agreeing:

Trump’s Project 2025 would cause even more inflation.

My economic plan is lowering costs and inflation.

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

He said he’ll end inflation, but even the Wall Street Journal published an article agreeing:Trump’s Project 2025 would cause even more inflation. My economic plan is lowering costs and inflation.

Now that's just fantasyland, on so many levels. Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025, and it isn't what Biden claims it is anyway. Trump had virtually no inflation when he was in office, thanks to good policies. It was at 1.4 percent when he left, despite Biden lying and saying it was at 9 percent. Under Biden, it rose to above 9 percent because of Biden's overspending. So he's blaming Trump who was great on inflation for something he, Biden, has been horrible at. Biden's inflation has been crushing Americans for almost three years.

Biden attacked Trump for talking about Hannibal Lecter, the fictional character in the movie "Silence of the Lambs":

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

Trump was talking about Lecter in the context of crime, basically saying you don't want to invite such things into your house. Biden, of course, leaves out the context. But Biden needs to take a look in the mirror and remember his made-up story that he told people, about his "Uncle Bosey" being eaten by the cannibals. Biden can't really talk about anyone else, when he's making up cannibal stories.

Finally, Biden claimed that Trump attacked unions, claiming he, Biden, was the "most pro-worker" person to occupy the Oval Office:

He attacked unions, and it’s not the first time. Not even close.

I’m the most pro-worker president in history. Donald doesn’t know a damn thing about protecting workers and their rights.

He should be ashamed.

— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 20, 2024

First, you can't be pro-worker when you're crushing Americans with inflation, throwing open the border to illegal immigration, and wanting to raise taxes on workers, like Biden wants to. That's being anti-worker.

Second, Trump invited the head of the Teamsters to speak at the RNC. Here's what that union head said about him.

Warning for language:

Sean O’Brien says what we are all thinking..!

Whether you like him or not, Trump has proven to be one tough SOB! pic.twitter.com/xwlsRP3Ssk

— Gunther Eagleman™ (@GuntherEagleman) July 16, 2024

O'Brien said in light of the assassination attempt, "Trump has proven to be one tough S.O.B.!"

Unfortunately, when it comes to Biden you can't even know if he's tweeting from his own X account. But whether it's an intern or not, it's someone lying on Biden's behalf. However you slice it, it's wrong. It makes it even more problematic when you consider it's probably anonymous people pretending to speak for him. These are the crazy people presently holding sway over our government.

Biden's further problem? He can't even hold the support of Democrats. Even his top Democratic friends have turned on him, and are trying to force him out because they think he's going to lose. Joe can rant all about Trump, but Trump is leading in the polls and that lead is growing:

Trump Spotlights Sam Brown As a Heroic Senate Hopeful From Nevada in RNC Address

During his Republican nomination acceptance speech on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention (RNC), former President Donald Trump paid significant attention to the great state of Nevada. Importantly, Trump recognized Captain (Ret.) Sam Brown, a Silver State candidate for U.S. Senate.

Trump said of Brown:

And, by the way, we have a man in this room who is running for the US Senate from a great state, Nevada, named Sam Brown who paid the ultimate price. Thank you, Sam. Thank you, Sam. Thank you.

He paid the biggest price probably ever paid by anybody that is running for office, and I think he's going to do great.

He's running against a person that is not good, not respected, a total lightweight.

But, Sam I think paid, --really we were talking about it with some of the senators that are working so hard for Sam-- but he paid the biggest price of any senator ever to run for the Senate. I don't think anybody's ever... what he did... he was a real hero, a really great person, and he's running.

I hope that everybody gets out and votes for Sam Brown.

In response to the former president's words, Brown posted the clip of Trump's speech on X, writing:

I am deeply honored to have served our great nation in Afghanistan, and now I am equally proud to stand alongside President Trump as the next Senator of Nevada. Thank you, President Trump, for your unwavering confidence in me. Together, we will reignite the spirit of the American Dream and restore hope for all.  #DutyFirst #MAGA #GodBlessAmerica

Brown delivered a compelling speech to the RNC audience earlier in the week, recounting his journey from combat injuries that left him disfigured to a hopeful path of recovery.

Both Brown and Trump highlighted a no-tax-on-tips policy during their RNC addresses. Trump attributed the idea to a waitress in Nevada, while Brown has been a vocal advocate of this policy for service workers in Las Vegas' tourism-driven economy. Incumbent Democrat Senator Jacky Rosen reversed her stance on the issue, joining as a co-author of the bill after its endorsement by Trump and Brown in Nevada.

Trump told the audience:

At the center of our plan for economic relief are massive tax cuts for workers that include something else that stood out to be very popular, actually. Here, it’s very popular. In this building and all those hotels that are so nice, I’m staying in a nice one. It’s called no tax on tips. No tax on tips. No tax on tips.

And I got that by having dinner recently in Nevada where we’re leading by about 14 points.

Hello. I’ll see you there very soon, everybody.

And we were having dinner at a beautiful restaurant in the Trump building on the Strip. And it’s a great building and the waitress comes over.

'How’s everything going?'

Really nice person.

'How’s everything going?

'Oh sir, it’s so tough. The government is after me all the time on tips, tips, tips.'

I said, 'Well, they give you cash, would they be able to find them?'

And she said, 'Actually,' and I didn’t know this, 'very little cash is given. It’s all put right on the check. And they come in and they take so much of our money it’s just ridiculous. And they don’t believe anything we say.'

They’ve just hired, as you know, 88,000 agents to go after them even more

But I said to her, 'Let me just ask you a question. Would you be happy if you had no tax on tips?'

She said, 'What a great idea.'

I got my information from a very smart waitress.

In a separate post, Brown shared a photo of himself in the audience as Trump addressed the crowd, writing:

Thank you, President Trump! I was proud to serve before, and I’ll be proud to serve again alongside you!

Brown's race is competitive, as Rosen's lead has slipped from a 14-point lead in May to a mere two-point lead in the latest July polling. In April, the Cook Political Report upgraded the Nevada Senate race from "Lean Democrat" to "Toss Up."

GOP Rep Goes on CNN and Destroyed the Network's Fact-Checker Live On-Air

Mike Waltz Articles - Breitbart
Mike Walt (R-FL)

Rep. Mike Walt (R-FL) took no prisoners going on CNN to shred the network’s notoriously unreliable and shoddy fact-checker Daniel Dale, who said the Republican congressman’s electric tank remarks were “pure fiction” at the Republican National Convention, which wrapped on Thursday (via HuffPo):

Rep. Mike Waltz’s (R-Fla.) claim that Biden is focused on electrifying tanks is “pure fiction,” Dale said. “Various speakers depicted a country with rampant crime and violence without acknowledging that violent crime is now lower than it was during Donald Trump’s last year in office,” he added.

Rep. Waltz went back on CNN, brought the facts, and embarrassed the network’s fact-checking department for being nothing more than Democratic Party operatives. The Florida Republican said that there was no way Dale could have analyzed the U.S. Army’s budget in the timeframe, which ended with him smearing the congressman as a liar. Waltz rightly shredded Dale for misleading the public (via Daily Wire):

— L A R R Y (@LarryOConnor) July 19, 2024

Waltz pushed back first in a post on X, sharing an article from Inside Defense with the comment, “‘The Army intends to field all-electric tanks by 2050, a top service energy and environment official told Inside Defense.’ You can retract your ‘fact-check’ from TV last night on my speech.”

Waltz took it a step further during a follow-up appearance on CNN, where he argued that Dale should not have delivered a fact-check on national television if he did not have all of the facts himself.

Waltz brought Dale into the conversation, prompting his interviewer to read back what he’d said about Biden “focusing on building electric tanks” and noting that it appeared to come from an Army climate strategy plan that mentioned going electric with tactical vehicles.

“Wrong,” Waltz cut him off, citing a Bloomberg report and testimony from the Secretary of the Army — along with a budget report indicating that funding was being set aside for development — and argued that Dale should sit down with some of the same people he had if he really wanted the facts.

The interviewer tried to object, saying that Dale would probably be happy to speak with anyone — but Waltz pointed out that he should have done so before he called into question the “credibility” of a sitting member of Congress on live television.

Nicely done, congressman.
