House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter to the daughter of the Manhattan trial judge who presided over Donald Trump's business records case, demanding documents relating to her past work for Democrat presumptive nominee Kamala Harris.

House Republicans are looking into potential bias related to Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, whose work on the behalf of Democrats while with Authentic Campaigns has raised eyebrows.

In the letter, Jordan said Loren Merchan could be in possession of docs that would aid House Republicans in their consideration of new legislation to combat political bias.

"Experts have raised substantial concerns with Judge Merchan, your father, refusing to recuse himself from President Trump's case despite your work on behalf of President Trump's political adversaries and the financial benefit that your firm, Authentic Campaigns Inc., could receive from the prosecution and conviction," Jordan wrote in the four-page letter.

"Since 2019, you have been closely involved in presidential campaigns for both President Biden and Vice President Harris. In 2019, you served as the director of digital persuasion for then-presidential candidate Harris's campaign while simultaneously serving as Vice President at Authentic Campaigns, a 'Chicago-based progressive political consulting firm.' During your time working on behalf of Vice President Harris, Authentic Campaigns received over $7 million in compensation for its services," the letter went on.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records under a "novel legal theory," Jordan's letter read.

"In testimony to the Committee, experts have explained how Judge Merchan made several errors before and during President Trump's trial that violated due process, infringed upon his First Amendment rights, and prevented him from receiving a fair trial," Jordan wrote.

"Judge Merchan's conflicts of interest and biases in the case against President Trump, the Republican nominee in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, implicate serious federal interests," he added.

Jordan's letter comes a day after Trump's legal team wrote a pre-motion letter again asking for Judge Merchan to recuse himself from the case.

"The House is currently considering legislation, informed by the Committee's oversight, that would remedy politically motivated local prosecutions by allowing a current or former president to remove the case to a more neutral forum in federal court. If such a measure were in place at the time, Judge Merchan would not have presided over President Trump's trial," he wrote.

As such, Jordan is demanding Loren Merchan turn over documents and communications by Aug. 8 that would inform "whether the House should move forward with the removal legislation discussed above."

White House Gets Decimated Over Disgusting Comment on 9/11 Deal

We reported on the plea deal that was announced by the Biden Defense Department with some of the terrorists allegedly involved in the horrific attack on 9/11.

The prosecution reached a plea agreement with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin 'Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi. But the Pentagon did not release any details of the deal, showing that typical Biden team "transparency."

As we noted, a "person familiar with the deal" said it involved a life sentence rather than the death penalty in exchange for guilty pleas. Family members of the 9/11 victims also confirmed they were told this by the Office of Military Commissions.

Now, this case has been messed up for a long time, but needless to say, the family members and Americans in general are very upset that the Biden-Harris administration struck such a deal concerning the 9/11 attack.

But guess what the White House did? They released a statement saying they had "no role" in the process. Then White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was grilled over the deal as she was asked what was the White House response to the families? She kept looking down and could barely even pick her head up to look the reporters in the eye, her answer was so disgraceful:

KJP claimed the White House had "no involvement" in the decision. "The White House played no role in this process," she claimed. She said they directed their team to consult "with officials and lawyers in the Department of Defense" as appropriate. She declared that their hearts went out to the families, and Biden recognized 9/11 each year. Does she get how cold and lacking in care for Americans this is?

People were understandably upset that she was trying to run away from any responsibility for actions by their own administration.

The NY Post said it for a lot of people.

We used to have a policy of not negotiating with terrorists, but we've apparently thrown all that under the bus. It's why we're going to have more Americans wrongfully detained by hostile governments and bad actors. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden own this, they can't wiggle out of responsibility.

As far as Biden always recognizing 9/11, we reported last year how he blew off going to any of the attack sites on that day. He didn't want to do anything to amend his schedule to meet the moment, apparently.

Biden Thinks He Delivered Mic Drop Response on Russian Prisoner Deal. Instead, He Trips Over the Facts.

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Bars pointed that out.

"The analogy that I was given," Doocy reported, "is that 22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. Presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii." Yikes.

But hey, Biden always remembers, right, Karine?

In an Olympics of Blasphemy and Gender Controversy, Turkey's Yusuf Dikeç is the Hero We Need

The 2024 Paris Olympics can't get out of their own way. Between blasphemous opening ceremony moments to rage and counter-rage over gender-challenged individuals competing in women's sports, it seems that naught but controversy flows through this Olympiad as surely as the river Seine.

Female Olympic Boxing or Domestic Violence? For the IOC, Wokeism Is More Important Than Safety

Enter Turkish cat lover Yusuf Dikeç.

The 51-year-old Dikeç, who gives every impression of being the poster child for mild-mannered, inoffensive middle-aged men everywhere, apparently had nothing much going on this week. So, he decided to take a vacation to France, while there spending some time casually enjoying his hobby.

The tweet isn't completely accurate, as Dikeç was wearing earplugs. That duly noted, the medal part is true. Dikeç and his partner Şevval İlayda Tarhan, who is less than half Dikeç's age, won the silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event.

Dikeç's casual air is no act, but rather the natural byproduct of a man comfortable in his own skin and with his skill.

“I shoot with both eyes, most shooters do it with one. So I didn’t want that all that equipment. Shooting with two eyes — I believe that it’s better. I’ve done a lot of research on it, so I didn’t need the equipment,” Dikeç told Turkish radio station Radyo Gol.

“Shooting with my hand in my pocket has nothing to do with artistry. I am more motivated and feel more comfortable while shooting,” he said, adding that this stance “is actually about bringing the body to equilibrium and focusing and concentrating.”

Confident but not cocky. Exactly how we like our heroes.

Dikeç is no newcomer to competitive shooting. He first medaled in 2005 at the Mediterranean Games. Including his newly acquired Olympic hardware, he has won 10 gold, 11 silver, and six bronze medals at 10, 25, and 50-meter distances in assorted international competitions. I believe the appropriate expression, albeit slightly dated, is “mad skillz.”

One of sports' greatest strengths comes from relatable athletes. The ones who are affable and personable when not competing draw the greatest fan base because, despite the obvious difference in physical talent, there is a common thread binding us together. A prime example of this is Caitlin Clark, who, all the mean girls' garbage thrown her way by assorted sulky WNBA players notwithstanding, clearly loves playing the game and being a normal, likable person off the court.

MOREWhy Caitlin Clark Is the Role Model Modern Girls Need

While little is known of Yusuf Dikeç away from the shooting range, he gives every appearance of utter normalcy. Or, at the least, normalcy as embodied by someone who could literally shoot the lights out while giving all indications being able to do so is as matter-of-fact as ... oh, having a kitten perched on your shoulder.

Kamala Harris Was a Trainwreck When Greeting Americans Recently Freed From Russia

They’re back in the United States, folks. Paul Whelan, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, and Alsu Kurmasheva arrived on American soil earlier this morning. They were freed from Russia in a prisoner exchange. It was a simple event, with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris greeting the three individuals and their families at Andrews Air Force Base. It’s an easy layup for any administration, and this gruesome twosome botched it.

First, Joe Biden looks gone. The only notable thing about his presence is that we know he’s still alive. Yet, the whole event was weird. Who’s leading the country? Because it’s not Biden. Who’s the president right now, too?

“Greet families for a couple of minutes, then turn towards reporters, then stop talking and Kamala interrupts him. Who is president right now?,” asked commentator Stephen L. Miller.

Then, Kamala went off script and showed why so many people aren’t that high on her behind the scenes.

"This is just an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy,” she said to the press corps.

What a trainwreck.

Biden then got creepy with reporters, saying, “You’re stuck with me as president for awhile, kid. There’s no way out. You got me for at least 90 days or so.”

Can these two not be awkward for one event? Is that even possible? No wonder why this country is rudderless and in a state of chaos—we have two mental invalids at the helm.

Also, we're back to this nonsense again.

How Some Reacted to Trump's Visit to Black Journalists' Conference Is What You'd Expect

Donald Trump stopped the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago, Illinois, which led to much consternation among liberals and members of this organization. Karen Attiah, a Washington Post editor, resigned as co-chair of the conference in protest. Audio difficulties led to the event being delayed by a half hour, but the event has become a Rorschach test: liberals think Trump imploded. At the same time, conservatives felt it was gutsy for the former president to sit down with what quickly became a hostile press event. It started rocky, but Trump was able to drive home his key points, especially on immigration.

Scott Adams marvels at Donald Trump's performance at the NABJ. Adam's conclusion is that the men in the audience were impressed by Trump:
"Oh my God it was perfect. It was good as the Rosie O'Donnell. In my mind this was as good as the Rosie O'Donnell play.
Did he look nervous?… pic.twitter.com/8ixIC5emxs

There was also a flurry of fake news like the event being held up by Trump because he didn’t want to be fact-checked live. It was due to an audio issue. Some also accused Trump of leaving early because the interview was so bad. It started late, and Trump had a hard stop due to a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, later that day.

It was vintage Trump. The remarks about Kamala being an Indian and becoming black are funny, but we shouldn’t waste too much energy on the vice president's race. The larger point is that Kamala will say and do anything to get elected, even if it means shameless pandering about her race. In 2016, The Associated Press said Harris was the first Indian elected to the U.S. Senate.

MSNBC was so triggered by Trump's success at the NABJ that they did not air the footage, instead choosing to 'fact check':https://t.co/A3mC4pwn5r

The event was likely net zero regarding hurting or helping Trump. It’s a venue where no one liked the man, but it provided an outlet to showcase his ‘unafraid’ persona and show his willingness to fight the opposition media. It provided some funny soundbites and rehashed the media’s nasty reputation, but let’s refocus on Harris’ record.

Kamala Harris Slips Up During Speech, Nearly Refers To Herself As 'President'

US Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris delivers the eulogy for US Representative Sheila Jackson Lee at Fallbrook Church in Houston, Texas, on August 1, 2024.

In Houston, Texas,

Vice President Kamala Harris accidentally misspoke during a Thursday speech, referring to herself as the “president” while delivering a eulogy for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas).

During the slip up, Harris had been recounting Lee’s past legislation related to including “Juneteenth” to the list of federal holidays.

“Which as a U.S. Senator, I was proud to co-sponsor and then as presi–” Harris stumbled, before correcting herself.

“As vice president it was my honor – with the president! With the president!” she exclaimed. “It was my honor – it was my honor with our president Joe Biden to stand beside Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee as our president signed her bill into law.”

Harris and other Democrat leaders continued to reminisce on their own personal memories of the congresswoman during the service.

“I knew, whatever else might be on my mind, Sheila Jackson Lee would require a very serious and specific conversation with you about what she had on her mind. And then she would tell you exactly what she needed you to do to help her get it done,” said Harris in front of a crowd of loved ones and former colleagues.

“Sheila Jackson Lee was relentless and righteous, courageous and caring, fearless and forward-thinking,” said Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.). “She used that platform to speak with deep moral clarity at every opportunity, despite rampant racism, sexism and discrimination.”

Biden also made time to pay his respects after a speech in Texas on Monday. Although he did not speak to reporters, in a statement after her death, Biden called her a “great American” who was “unrelenting in her leadership.”

Harris concluded, stating, “She was a force. But she never allowed anything to be mediocre. She always expected in all of us that we would rise to a point of excellence, knowing life is too short and there was too much to be done.”

Alina Habba Condemns Harris For 'Covering Up' Biden’s Cognitive Decline: 'You Have Lied To Us'

Alina Habba, attorney for former U.S. President Donald Trump, speaks on stage on the fourth day of the Republican National Convention.

In Alina Habba’s first podium speech as a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, she took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, the likely Democrat presidential nominee.

Habba, who legally represented Trump during his trial, came out guns-a-blazin’ and asserted that Harris is “worse than a socialist” while accusing her of having committed a crime in relation to “covering up” President Joe Biden’s deteriorating mental state.

Although Habba spoke at the Republican National Convention and made a brief appearance at Trump’s rally at his Doral resort, her remarks on Wednesday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, were her first rally appearance as a senior adviser to the campaign.

“Now let me tell you what, Kamala—you are committing a crime,” Habba said. “Because the only co-conspirator I know of the Biden-Harris administration is you. And you have lied to us about President Biden for the last three-and-a-half years,” she added.

According to polls, over 50% of American voters believe that a “cover up” was planned to hide Biden’s declining suitability for office from the public.

92 percent of those who believe there was a cover up, also believe that Harris was at least somewhat responsible for it.

“Let me just tell you, America,” Habba continued, “her policies are the same ones we’ve been living for three-and-a-half years. So don’t get it twisted, they don’t work,”

“She is worse than a socialist. She is worse than Bernie Sanders. And guess what, Kamala, you’re gonna lose just like he did,” she concluded.

On Wednesday, thousands of Trump fans flocked to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for his first rally back in the state after he was shot just 17 days earlier at a rally outside Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania is one of the few states that will decide the outcome of the election in November, making it extremely significant in the 2024 election.

Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro made a Harris campaign stop on Monday in a suburb of Philadelphia. Shapiro is also reportedly being considered as a possible running mate for Harris.

After the Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin earlier this month, Habba expressed her excitement at having the opportunity to speak again because she had missed the opportunity to challenge Harris, who had not yet taken over for Biden.
