Vance to Newsmax: Walz Is No Moderate; Voters Won't Be Fooled

What polling shows about Tim Walz approval from voters compared to JD Vance | The Independent

Voters will not be fooled by attempts to paint Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the running mate for presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, as a moderate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance told Newsmax on Tuesday.

"People are going to look at his record just as they're going to look at Kamala Harris' record and, in fact, he may be as even more of a liberal than she is, if that's even humanly possible," Vance, Republican Donald Trump's running mate, told "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE." "This is a guy who says that he stands for working people. I know what working people need [and] they need good jobs. And that's not going to happen if you destroy the American energy sector and ship all of our manufacturing jobs off to China. But that's exactly what Tim Walz has tried to do."

Vance added that Walz has been "all in on the open borders agenda of the Democratic Party."

"I know that working people really suffer when illegal aliens bring fentanyl into their communities and drive down the working-class wages, but Tim Waltz has been all in on the open borders agenda of the Democratic Party," Vance said. "This is a guy who they're going to say he looks like a moderate. He talks like a moderate. I don't think that's true at all.

"But even if he were, this is a guy who has governed like a very far left radical. It says a lot about Kamala Harris that she didn't go with, you know, one of the more moderate options; there was the guy in Pennsylvania, [Gov.] Josh Shapiro, who was liked by a lot of the moderates in the Democratic Party. No, she went for the most alienating choice because this is who she is, and this is how she wants to govern."

Kamala Goes Babbling in Philly With Tim Walz, Opens Mouth and Inserts Foot

Kamala Harris has finally made her selection of her running mate, and it was probably the worst choice — Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, someone who isn't well-known across the country, except perhaps for his failure to properly stop the riots in 2020 that burned Minneapolis. Not exactly the best thing to be known for.

There are a ton of clips of him saying things that most Americans would find bizarre and/or disqualifying, as well as a lot of other baggage. It doesn't seem a very smart choice for a far-left candidate to double down on the far-left. That might get some folks in Michigan, but it could well cost them Pennsylvania.

After the announcement, Harris and Walz held an event in Philadelphia that showed off how cringy they would be together. She was her regular bizarre self, and he was giving off Tim Kaine vibes. You know how that choice went.

He also made me think of Howard Dean and the infamous scream.

Harris immediately went straight to the cackle and incoherence, repeating over and over again, "Good evening!" as Walz looked Dean-like and weird in the background, making weird faces and smacking his hands together.

Harris claims she launched her campaign for president a couple of weeks ago, leaving out the coup on Biden and that she didn't get one primary vote for the position.

So much for the "We want to save democracy" crew.

It sounded like a lot of what she said was from the speech she normally gives, once again raising the question, just like with Joe Biden, how much she can speak off the cuff.

Then she spoke about what she wanted to do, including helping people buy a home, own a business, and "build wealth."

That was possibly her most ridiculous statement since everything that she and Joe Biden have done since they took office has worked against people's ability to buy a home, own a business, and build wealth. Homes are out of reach for many because of the high interest rates and inflation. It's hard to "build wealth" when you need to use your savings just to keep afloat and buy groceries that are so expensive under Biden-Harris.

Harris and Walz also chanted they were "not going back."

Yes, that's the problem. "Back" under Trump, we had low inflation and more peace in the Middle East. We had good foreign policy and a secure border versus the chaos that Harris helped to bring in.

Where do they want to go into the future? Harris opened her mouth and inserted her foot.

Now that she's embraced him, she's embraced all of his radical beliefs along with all of his failures, including the Minneapolis riots — where she also promoted the bail fund for people arrested during those riots.

Does she really know what she's hooked herself to? Does she think socialism is like neighborliness, too? Does she think the red state areas are mostly "rocks and cows" like he does? That should work well, just as "deplorables" did for Hillary Clinton.

Democrat Elissa Slotkin, Republican Mike Rogers Win Michigan Primary Races for U.S. Senate

Former House Intel Chair Mike Rogers: Widened European Privacy Laws Hurt Intelligence Collection - USNI News

In a competitive Michigan primary for the Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) went up against actor and businessman Hill Harper. DDHQ reports that Slotkin has won the seat handily, defeating Harper 80 percent to 20 percent.

U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin is the winner of Michigan’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary, DDHQ projects. Slotkin was running against actor and businessman Hill Harper.

Slotkin, 48, is currently the U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 7th District – which includes all of Ingham, Livingston, Shiawassee and Clinton counties, plus areas of Eaton, Genesee and Oakland counties.

Slotkin took to X to announce her victory, thank her supporters, and, of course, fundraise.

THANK YOU, MICHIGAN!! Thank you to everyone who cast their ballot in this primary election – and to everyone who knocked a door, talked to voters, or chipped in a few bucks to fuel this campaign. I’m thrilled to officially be your Democratic Nominee for Senate. And for those who may not have voted for me, I look forward to earning your support.

Today marks the official start of the 90-day sprint to the general election in November. We have a lot of work to do yet, and I’m going to need a full grassroots team and a groundswell by my side. So the moment is now: can I count on you to chip in $5 to help us start off the general election in the strongest position possible and keep Michigan blue? Let’s do this!!

For the November 5 General Election, Slotkin faces Republican and former Rep. and FBI agent Mike Rogers, who is endorsed by former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump. Rogers won the Republican primary, defeating former Congressman Justin Amash 65 percent to 15 percent. Two other Republican challengers were also defeated, taking up the rest of the vote.

DDHQ is projecting that U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers will win Michigan’s Republican primary for U.S. Senate, beating out former Rep. Justin Amash and West Michigan Dr. Sherry O’Donnell.

Rogers, 61, served as a congressman for Michigan’s 8th District from 2001 to 2015, and also worked as an FBI agent and was a Michigan State senator.

As a Congresswoman, Slotkin has positioned herself as a moderate, touting her work as a CIA analyst and in the Defense Department under presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. When Rogers served in Congress, he headed the House Intelligence Committee and plans to focus on the economy, the Southern border, and crime.

With the shifting tides of the Michigan electorate, the race is considered a toss-up.

Non-partisan political handicapper, the Cook Political Report, rated the open Senate seat as a "Toss Up." The race was originally thought to be "Lean Democratic" but was shifted shortly before President Biden exited the 2024 race.

Another Squad Member Down: Cori Bush Loses Her Primary

Cori Bush primary election results: Bush loses to Wesley Bell

On Tuesday, voters headed to the polls for primary elections, including Missouri. The race to watch there, and of the night overall, was in the 1st Congressional District, where Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) faced a crowded primary field. Ultimately, she was beaten by DA Wesley Bell.

Decision Desk HQ called the race a little bit past 10pm, just over two hours after polls closed.

Given the the bad polling and fundraising numbers that have followed her for months, Bush's loss does not come as a surprise.

Although she and her allies liked to blame pro-Israel groups like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in the months leading up to her ultimate loss, Bush had been plagued by plenty of issues.

On Monday, the eve of her primary, The New York Times put out a piece highlighting some particularly insane comments she made about classifying Hamas as a terrorist organization. The congresswoman seemed to claim ignorance about Hamas, and even looked to compare radical Islamic terrorists to black people, though she claimed that wasn't what she was doing.

Although a spokesperson offered a statement to the outlet offering that Bush did know Hamas is a terrorist organization, she still went with a narrative blaming "the far right."

As we also mentioned at the time, to remind about Bush's anti-Israel record:

As we have been covering since the October 7 attack, Bush and other members of the Squad have put their anti-Israel sentiments on display, including but not limited to calling for a ceasefire from the start.

The report mentions how Bush, along with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), were the only members who voted earlier this year against keeping Hamas terrorists and anyone else who participated in the October 7 attack from entering the United States. Fellow Squad member, Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), voted present. Bush has consistently voted against other pieces of legislation dealing with support for Israel and countering antisemitism.

When Israel faced an unprecedented attack from Iran in April, Bush's account had released a post as such news was coming in to rant against AIPAC. Although she took down her post, the post she was sharing from Justice Democrats remained, and she also ranted against Israel in a subsequent statement.

The congresswoman was also one of many Democratic members who boycotted the speech that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave for a joint session of Congress last month.

The outcome of the race was hailed by StopAntisemitism as "FANTASTIC NEWS!"

"Cori Bush" and "Wesley Bell" have also been trending over X, as many expressed anticipation about the race being called.

DecisionDeskHQ calls it - antisemite Cori Bush has been booted from Congress!

— StopAntisemitism (@StopAntisemites) August 7, 2024

Bush has yet to post about the outcome of the race. Her most recent post shared to X referenced a common refrain to complain about the money spent to oust her, which is that Bell was "still trying to buy this seat."

The congresswoman had also appeared to incorrectly refer to Bell as a Republican, per The New York Times report. "I’m not going to platform a Republican," Bush was quoted as saying. "If he was not taking all of this Republican money for a Democratic district, then there would be a conversation."

The congresswoman wasn't merely facing issues for her anti-Israel stance. She's also been plagued by a scandal involving the misuse of taxpayer funds to pay her security guard, who is also her husband, for which she is under investigation by the Department of Justice. Her stance on private security has been particularly hypocritical given what a staunch opponent she is of the Second Amendment.

Bush is not the only Squad member to lose her primary. Soon to be former Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost his primary to Westchester County Executive George Latimer back in June, 58.4 percent to 41.6 percent of the vote.

For all this talk about a vote "to protect democracy," it's worth reminding that both Bush and Bowman came into office by unseating Democratic incumbents in primaries of their own. Bowman had defeated former Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel in 2020, while Bush had defeated former Democratic Rep. Lacy Clay.

With an estimated 52 percent of the vote reporting, Bell enjoys 54.3 percent of the vote to Bush's 42.4 percent.

The Media Drops the C-Word to Describe Tim Walz. Yes, It's Offensive.

Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who infamously stuffed boys’ school bathrooms with tampons, as her running mate. Tampon Tim is feisty and will ensure he never outshines Kamala Harris, which was the only concern for the vice president. She passed over the choice most thought she’d go with, Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro because the rising Keystone Democrat is pro-Israel and Jewish.

Now, we’re going to be subjected to another wave of gaslighting from the media about how Tampon Tim is a folksy moderate, a classic centrist (yes, the media is dropping the c-word) when he’s anything but—the man is an unhinged radical who established a COVID regime one would think would only be retained in the fictional writings of George Orwell and Oceania. Tim sporting a shotgun and wearing an orange vest doesn’t mean he’s folksy. Yet, that’s how dumb Democrats think you are (via Newsbusters):

Before getting into the absurd garbage that journalists are peddling today, let’s first dispel with the notion that Walz is, or ever was, a “moderate.” It’s already well established that he’s governed Minnesota as a hard-line leftist: he allowed the BLM riots in 2020 to run rampant through the Twin Cities; he supports hormone treatments and sex change operations for children; and during a particularly draconian COVID-19 lockdown, he established a hotline that encouraged Minnesotans to snitch on their neighbors for gathering outdoors.

But even most (though not all) corporate journalists are not dishonest enough to claim that he’s been a centrist Governor. Instead, the preferred talking point is that, while he trended more progressive during his stint as Minnesota’s Chief Executive, he spent 12 years in Congress as a solid moderate.

[…]

On Tuesday morning, MSNBC contributor and former Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill (whose lifetime ACU rating was 12%) lambasted those who would dare describe Walz as a leftist: “The idea that Time Walz is some lefty is just not true in reality. He got elected in a district that was very moderate… He is definitely somebody who is absolutely more moderate than people are giving him credit for right now.”

Later that morning, MSNBC contributor and former Florida Dem Carlos Curbelo spent several minutes wildly gaslighting the audience of MSNBC’s José Díaz-Balart Reports: “It’s the same formula as 2020 for Democrats, but inverted. Now the progressive candidate is at the top of the ticket, and the more centrist, deal-making candidate is the Vice Presidential nominee.”

Hillyard repeated the claim that Walz was a “centrist” several times during that segment.

Against all odds ABC chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl somehow managed to outdo even the two former members of Congress on MSNBC’s payroll. Over the course of just a few minutes, wove the term “moderate” into his analysis so often that one wonders whether he was being paid per utterance:

He does have a record in Congress as a very moderate Democrat representing a very moderate to conservative district in Minnesota…

He had a pretty moderate record…

He was viewed as a moderate…

He will appeal, have a more personal connection to some of those moderate voters…

He has a proven ability to do well with rural, moderate, even conservative voters.

No, Walz has never done well with rural conservatives—is everyone taking hits of Hunter Biden’s crack pipe?

Independent reporter Michael Shellenberger also cited Walz’s snitch line during COVID as evidence to shred this “centrist” narrative being manufactured around the leftist tendencies of Mr. Walz, who also supports the genital mutilation of prepubescent teens.

The media reaction is what you’d expect.

Former President Donald Trump has announced that he will be interviewed by X (Twitter) owner and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

On Tuesday, Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying that he has agreed to take part in an interview with Musk as soon as next week, most likely Monday, August 12th, according to USA Today.

“ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK — Details to follow,” Trump wrote in a short post.

Regarding the interview, Musk has not yet announced it on his platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter.

As his presidency came to an end, Trump was prohibited from using Twitter in January 2021. After Musk’s takeover the following year, Trump’s X account was once again activated on the platform.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk posted on X on July 13th.

CNBC Host: 'Go With Trump' If You Care About Your Paycheck And You're In The Stock Market

Jim Cramer, the host of CNBC‘s “Mad Money” program, advised viewers on Monday to back former President Donald Trump if they were concerned about their financial situation.

Cramer: “If you’re in the stock market, if you care about your paycheck, you go with Trump… That’s what you do.”

Fellow CNBC host David H. Faber: “You do?”

Cramer: “Yeah, well, he wants to cut your taxes.”

Cramer made his remarks on Monday when the stock market plummeted, sparking concerns about the possibility of a recession.

The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 plummeted 3.43% and 3%, respectively, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,033.99 points, or 2.6%.

In addition, the CNBC host also praised Vice President Kamala Harris for appointing her brother-in-law, Tony West, as a close advisor. West is an attorney who worked for the Obama administration as the associate attorney general.

“There was no business person really that close to Biden, except for Gina Raimondo, so this is a nice change of pace, a lot of business people surrounding Harris,” Cramer continued.

After being asked recently about what his presidential “legacy” would be, President Joe Biden asserted last week that he had “cured the economy,” which prompted an uproar on social media platforms from angry Americans who maintained that the economy has only become worse under Biden.

Reporter: “Mr. President, What do you want your legacy for Gen Z to be?”

Biden: “That I cured the economy. And the environment. And a few other small things.”
