Clean up your own Trash First

In a Newsmax.TV exclusive interview, determined Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Friday began the legal notification process that could lead to 1,500 state employees losing their jobs in April. He also said that President Barack Obama should stay out of his state’s fiscal crisis and instead ought to focus on “the much, much graver budget crisis we have in our nation’s capital, which he’s failed to lead on.”

The GOP governor said the jobs will be saved, however, if at least one of 14 AWOL Democratic state senators return to the state next week, which would allow the Wisconsin Senate the quorum it needs to pass Walker’s “budget repair bill.”

Wisconsin has been mired in weeks now as thousands of union members, many of them bused in from neighboring states, march to protest the fiscal austerity measures that Walker maintains are necessary to rein in a $3.6 billion deficit. Among his proposals are limitations on unions’ ability to conduct collective bargaining, which would be limited to negotiating salaries. Unions would have no say in how much their members pay for pension and health benefits.

14 Missing Dems got Big Money from Union

The 14 Wisconsin Democratic senators who fled to Illinois share more than just political sympathy with the public employees and unions targeted by Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill.
The Senate Democrats count on those in the public sector as a key funding source for their campaigns.
In fact, one out of every five dollars raised by those Democratic senators in the past two election cycles came from public employees, such as teachers and firefighters, and their unions, a Journal Sentinel analysis of campaign records shows.
"It's very simple," said Richard Abelson, executive director of District Council 48 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. "We have interests and because of that we attempt to support candidates who support our interests. It's pretty hard to find Republicans who support our interests these days."
Bailey: It most be nice to get free insurance and a free pension plan for life.

Look like Jackasses

As members of Congress fight over what to cut in the current federal budget to avert a government shutdown, lawmakers are about to receive a blockbuster report that could provide a roadmap to potentially hundreds of billions of dollars in waste. The nonpartisan General Accounting Office (GAO) is poised to release a report Tuesday that one senator said "will make us all look like jackasses."
"Go study that (report). It will show why we're $14 trillion in debt," said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. "Anybody that says we don't look like fools up here hasn't read the report."
The report, a summary of which was obtained by Fox News, was mandated by Congress the last time it raised the debt limit in January 2010. In its analysis of federal agencies, the GAO found 33 areas with "overlap and fragmentation."
"Reducing or eliminating duplication, overlap, or fragmentation could potentially save billions of taxpayer dollars annually and help agencies provide more efficient and effective services," the report says. In one example, the report found that if the Defense Department were to make "broader restructuring" of its "military health care system" it "could result in annual savings of up to $460 million."
Even more scathing is the duplication investigators found in the nation's biodefense efforts, with the report essentially saying that the billions of dollars spent annually is the responsibility of no one individual and that there is no plan for post-attack coordination, this on the heels of a 2010 federal commission finding that gave the U.S. a "failing grade" in its prevention measures.

WHAT IS GOING on in Wisconsin will come soon to a neighborhood near you.

All governments, city, state and federal, are running out of money. Every night on the news stories of budget deficits abound.
This could be a good thing. Bloated salaries and outrageous benefits for public sector workers was easier to overlook when the economy was rosy, and the impending disaster "can" was being kicked down the road.
It is time to confront the issues that are sending almost all governments into bankruptcy.
The silver lining?
There are more of us in the private sector than there are in the public sector. Believe me, that is not for lack of trying by people who continue to expand government programs and bureaus within the bureaus. But what politicians seem to overlook is that no government jobs can exist without some people in the private sector paying taxes to support them.
Now is the perfect time to get those who have not been paying attention to start taking notice.
Many of us make a certain salary yet are supporting our counterparts in the government who make more than we do.
Not only that, but we are responsible for their retirement and health care for life. They may participate toward those benefits, but it has been minimal.
It is time for them to join the rest of us and make the sacrifice.http://www.marinij.com/opinion/ci_17476216

Digging into a Empty Wallet.

Bailey:
You've borrowed everything from your retirement. You've maxed out all of your credit cards. You've got no pay raises on your job for years. And you thought, I will be able to catch up as soon as the economy  gets better. Then just when you think you see a small ray of sunlight, here come the oil companies pushing up the gas prices again. The people who run these companies must ether be mighty stupid or have already made enough money off us, that they are not worried about killing the goose that lays the golden egg. Because that is exactly what they are doing! The average American citizen can't dig money out of a empty wallet. Does anyone remember the oil well leaking millions of gallons of oil into the ocean? Did that drive up the oil prices? Hell no! They seem to pick and choose certain events just to jack up the prices.

It's the Unions' Last Stand, and Taxpayers Must Fight the Good Fight

The battle raging in Wisconsin has huge implications for all American taxpayers, who will be forced to shoulder the burden of out of control government spending at the state, local and federal level. The bosses -- either from the union or the Democratic Party -- who depend on a steady flow of union dues into their political coffers are desperate because they understand the stakes.
So, too, must taxpayers.
This fight will decide whether union bosses can bleed taxpayers dry no matter what happens in elections, or whether electing limited-government conservatives can result in meaningful change.
Union membership is in free-fall in the private economy. In 2010, private sector union membership reached 6.9 percent, a record low. That means 93.1 percent of workers in the private economy are not union members – a higher level than when FDR signed the Wagner Act into law in 1935. It makes sense, because workers have seen unions cripple industries like autos, steel and airlines. They’ve seen union bosses make such outrageous demands that companies end up in bankruptcy and workers lose their jobs. Most workers would simply prefer to negotiate their own salary and benefits than to let union bosses destroy more companies and industries.http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/02/21/unions-stand-taxpayers-fight-good-fight/

Walker: ‘Democracy Doesn’t Come by Hiding Out’

Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker Thursday told Fox News he is personally appealing to Democratic state lawmakers – who fled the state to circumvent voting on a budget bill that would curb union rights – to return and participate in the legitimate process, or law enforcement might again “seek them out.”

Saudis Fault Obama on Egyptian Crisis

A telephone conversation between President Obama and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday was unusually tense, a senior Obama administration official confirmed to Fox News.
The discord arises from Saudi displeasure over the Obama administration's handling of the Egyptian crisis. "They have talked about [the necessity of] a dignified exit for Mubarak," said the official. "And they are judging, in their own minds…that we have pushed Mubarak to the side."

Gallup: Obama Approval Hits New Low on Deficit

President Barack Obama’s approval rating for his handling of the federal deficit has fallen to a new low — just 27 percent of Americans now approve, down from 32 percent in November, while 68 percent disapprove, a Gallup poll reveals.

President Obama, Gallup, deficitBack in April 2009, 49 percent of those polled said they approved of Obama’s handling of the deficit.

The new Gallup poll discloses that Americans feel Obama is doing much better on international issues than on domestic ones.

The poll was conducted Feb. 2-5, as the Obama administration was seeking to deal with the turmoil in Egypt. Nearly half of respondents, 47 percent, said they approve of Obama’s handling of the turmoil in Egypt, while 32 percent disapprove and 21 percent have no opinion.

On Afghanistan, 47 percent approve of his handling of the situation, and 46 percent disapprove.

Regarding Obama’s energy policy, 43 percent approve, and 42 percent disapprove. But 54 percent disapprove of his performance regarding taxes, while 42 percent approve.

Obama also scores poorly on two other domestic issues: healthcare policy (Americans disapprove 56 percent to 40 percent), and the economy (60 percent to 37 percent).

Republicans give Obama particularly low marks for his handling of domestic issues. Just 12 percent approve of the president on healthcare policy, 9 percent approve of Obama on the economy, and 7 percent think he is doing a good job with the deficit.

Among Democrats, they give Obama the highest rating for his handling of foreign affairs (75 percent), and healthcare policy (73 percent).
Republicans (34 percent) and Independents (47 percent) both give him their highest approval rating for his handling of the situation in Afghanistan.

“President Obama has failed to build public support in recent months for his handling of major U.S. economic matters,” Gallup observes.

“His approval rating on the economy is no better than it was last fall, and his approval rating on the federal budget deficit — a top issue for Republicans in Congress since the midterm elections — is even worse. His broadest support on the issues comes on foreign policy matters, most notably the situation in Egypt, but even on these, his approval ratings register just below 50 percent.”

Super bowl Screw Up

Everyday I see things happening that brings America down lower and lower. But when you have a so called role model get up in front of a audience of millions and screw up our National Anthem that is about as low as you can go! People like this is what our kids are falling all over themselves to imitate. Our kids look up to these people and make them into heroes and then try to dress up and act like just like them. That's really scary  isn't it. And what is even scarier is the fact these same kids will grown up and become America's future leaders.

The People of Egypt Were Abandoned By the U.N. For 30 Years

There is one main reason why the Obama administration misjudged Egypt entirely – they cannot get their facts straight. For the last two years they have been busy defending the U.N. as an effective vehicle for promoting U.S. interests, in the name of engagement.

But for the three decades of Hosni Mubarak’s reign the U.N. has dedicated its human rights apparatus to demonizing the state of Israel and ignoring the human rights victims in Egypt and across the Arab world. As dissatisfaction and unrest have grown in the region over his presidency, the Obama administration failed to recognize the U.N.’s gross negligence or to take responsibility for ensuring an alternative vehicle to promote democracy. Instead, it legitimized the U.N.’s top human rights body, the Human Rights Council (HRC), by joining it.

Notwithstanding the meltdown in Egypt, Esther Brimmer, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of International Organization Affairs picked Tuesday to give her evidence for the success of the Obama foreign policy of engagement with the U.N. and its human rights world.

At a speech to the Brookings Institution she said: “Since the United States joined the Human Rights Council, it has not held a single special session on Israel.” Except that the U.S. took its seat on the Council September 14, 2009, and the Council held its sixth special session on Israel on October 15-16, 2009. It was a rather unforgettable session, actually, since it was the occasion the Council endorsed the notorious Goldstone report.

It is a mystery why the person in charge of international organizations in this country has no clue what the actual record is of the Council, but here is a short synopsis for her edification:http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/02/03/people-egypt-abandoned-years/

Brewer Slams New York City Mayor for Phoenix Gun Show Sting

Federal Judge in Florida Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional

PENSACOLA, Fla. – A federal judge ruled Monday that the Obama administration's health care overhaul is unconstitutional, siding with 26 states that sued to block it. U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson accepted without trial the states' argument that the new law violates people's rights by forcing them to buy health insurance by 2014 or face penalties.
Attorneys for the administration had argued that the states did not have standing to challenge the law and that the case should be dismissed.
The next stop is likely the U.S. Supreme Court. Two other federal judges have upheld the insurance requirement, but a federal judge in Virginia also ruled the insurance provision violates the Constitution.
In his ruling, Vinson went further than the Virginia judge and declared the entire health care law unconstitutional.
"This is obviously a very difficult task. Regardless of how laudable its attempts may have been to accomplish these goals in passing the Act, Congress must operate within the bounds established by the Constitution," Vinson wrote in his 78-page ruling.
At issue was whether the government is reaching beyond its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce by requiring citizens to purchase health insurance or face tax penalties.
Attorneys for President Barack Obama's administration had argued that the health care system was part of the interstate commerce system. They said the government can levy a tax penalty on Americans who decide not to purchase health insurance because all Americans are consumers of medical care.
But attorneys for the states said the administration was essentially coercing the states into participating in the overhaul by holding billions of Medicaid dollars hostage. The states also said the federal government is violating the Constitution by forcing a mandate on the states without providing money to pay for it.
Florida's former Republican Attorney General Bill McCollum filed the lawsuit just minutes after Obama signed the 10-year, $938 billion health care bill into law in March. He chose a court in Pensacola, one of Florida's most conservative cities. The nation's most influential small business lobby, the National Federation of Independent Business, also joined.
Other states that joined the suit are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

O’Reilly: Moran’s Comments on Race 'Disparaging'

When Rep. James Moran, D-Va., told an Arab-language television network that reaction to President Barack Obama’s race was key to the GOP’s overwhelming 2010 election victory, he actually was O’Reilly,Moran,Comments,Race,Disparagingplaying to his very ethnically mixed and liberal home constituency, Geraldo Rivera said on Friday’s “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Bill O’Reilly countered the remarks were nonetheless extremely “disparaging,” because he was talking to an Arab audience, and though there remains a racial component in the way people vote, Moran’s comments made no sense, because “70 percent of the American public supported President Obama on his inauguration day.”

Speaking on the U.S.-funded Alhurra network, Moran said the GOP trouncing happened in reaction to Obama, “because a lot of people in this country don't want to be governed by an African-American, particularly one who is inclusive, who is liberal, wants to spend money on everyone, and wants to reach out and include everyone in our society.”

Rivera noted that Moran has been repeatedly elected in a predominantly liberal and very ethnically mixed congressional district.

“Let me just say that Moran was to an extent speaking to his district It's a Washington, D.C. suburb. 40 percent of it is Muslim, Hispanic or black. Half of the others are yuppie liberals,” Rivera said. “He has never lost. He has won seven or eight times in a row by more than 60 percent. So he is talking to the hometown audience.
