Rep. Jackson: Democrats ignore livelihoods ruined by lockdowns

A Texas Republican lawmaker took aim at Democrats for ignoring victims of coronavirus lockdowns, while reopening the country to migrants and asylum seekers.

In a CPAC interview, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) said lockdown orders have ruined livelihoods by preventing people from going to work. He accused Democrats of not thinking about the long term consequences from shutting down the country.

“Take their $1.9 trillion spending bill they just put up. They don’t care what it does to the future of our kids. They’re not thinking about that,” Jackson stated. “They’re only thinking about the next election cycle and getting reelected and what they can do to pander to their base.”

Jackson went on to highlight the hypocrisy of Democrat efforts to keep schools and businesses closed, all while they open the southern border without taking substantial health measures.
