The court stayed its decision until January 4th to permit for further appeals. The Trump team is expected to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. The decision from the Colorado Supreme Court reverses the previous ruling that held Trump engaged in insurrection by allegedly inciting a U.S. Capitol breach on January 6th 2021, but that presidents do not fall under the jurisdiction of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment as they are not an “officer of the United States.”
