President Joe Biden handing Alex Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his father George Soros on Saturday shows just how desperate he is to "slap" America in the face before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, according to Nikki Haley. "Giving George Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom is another slap in the face of America after reducing the sentences of murderers and pardoning his son," Haley posted Saturday on X. "16 days is a long time until the Inauguration. "What is he capable of sliding in next? January 20th can't come soon enough." Biden honored the 94 year old liberal billionaire activist the nation's highest civilian honor through his son Alex, another Democrat-tied operative, at a White House ceremony. "Accepting on behalf of George Soros is Alex Soros: The Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded to George Soros," the White House statement read. "Born into a Jewish family in Hungary. George Soros escaped Nazi occupation to build a life of freedom for himself and countless others around the world. Educated in England, he settled in America as he became an investor and philanthropist, supporting key pillars of open societies, rights and justice, equity and equality. "Freedom now and in the future. His inspiring generosity reminds us all of our capacity and our obligation to stand up to the abuse of power and to be guardians of democracy and all people yearning to be free." Conservatives, including Elon Musk, denounced the awarding of the liberal activist that is tied to the funding of social justice activism. Musk posted a meme of Biden handing the Emperor from the "Star Wars" saga the award in an illustration of Soros receiving it: "George Soros looking quite good here. Must be the lighting." Musk has long been a critic of Soros. "In my opinion, George Soros fundamentally hates humanity," Musk told the Joe Rogan podcast last year. "He's doing things that erode the fabric of civilization. You know, getting DAs elected that refuse to prosecute crime. "That's part of the problem in San Francisco and L.A. and a bunch of other cities." Musk noted that Soros is old and "senile" but has been "very smart," having "made his first money by shorting the [British] pound," making him great at "spotting value for money that other people don't see." "One of the things he noticed was the value for money in local races is much higher than it is in national races," Musk added. "The lowest value of money is the presidential race. "Once you get to state and city district attorneys, the value for money is extremely good." Eric Mack ✉Eric Mack has been a writer and editor at Newsmax since 2016.
