Earlier on Friday, a group of New Jersey Democrat
representatives and the mayor of Newark, NJ, were taking part in a
protest outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention
facility in Newark when, as my colleague Ward Clark wrote, things went
completely sideways:
On Friday, it was a group of New Jersey
politicians arriving at Delaney Hall, a New Jersey facility housing the
worst of the worst - illegal aliens who are gang members, killers, child
abusers and rapists - and demanding to be allowed in to the facility to
"exercise oversight."
Reps.
Rob Menendez Jr., Bonnie Watson Coleman and LaMonica McIver, all New
Jersey Democrats, entered ICE's Delaney Hall detention facility in
Newark and were held up inside the first checkpoint, Department of
Homeland Security spokesperson DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told
Fox News.
"These members of Congress storming into a detention
facility goes beyond bizarre political stunt and puts the safety of our
law enforcement agents and the detainees at risk," a DHS statement to
Fox News said. "Members of Congress are not above the law and cannot
illegally break into detention facilities. Had these members requested a
tour, we would have facilitated a tour of the facility. This is an
evolving situation."
Here's the fun bit:
The prison currently holds alleged killers, MS-13 gang members, child rapists, among other criminal offenders.
The
lawmakers were outside the facility with a group of protesters when the
gates opened to allow an ICE bus in. The lawmakers then rushed through
the gates and past security, DHS said.
Clark added that the mayor of Newark, Ras
Baraka, "was even more egregious; he tried to make his way inside and
ignored the warning from ICE officials to leave." Baraka was promptly
arrested by authorities.
RELATED: Huge: It Doesn't Go Well for Dems Who Tried to Invade Prison Housing Illegal Alien Gang Members
You'd
think Democrats would take a hint to lay off beclowning themselves on
the behalf of criminals and gang members, after polls showed that
Americans are overwhelming sour on their policies on illegal
immigration, along with shocking information recently emerging about
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, all but confirming that he was directly involved
in human trafficking at the southern border, as RedState wrote on
Wednesday.
No, these Dems just showed that that expectation gives them way too much credit.

After
the fracas Friday started by the Dems in Newark, the Department of
Homeland Security helpfully filled in more of the story, in a thread on
their official X account, inviting the American people to "meet" these
not-so-innocent men whom the lawmakers are rushing to protect. Let's
look at them together, shall we?
Before sharing the mugshots, other images of the illegals being arrested, and their affiliations/charges, DHS wrote about Friday's incident:
The post reads:
Today,
as a bus of detainees was entering the security gate of Delaney Hall
Detention Center, a group of protestors, including two members of US
Congress, stormed the gate and broke into the detention facility. The
allegations by Newark politicians that Delaney does not have the proper
permitting is false.
Meet who the New Jersey lawmakers are fighting for:
One of them is Saravia Santamaria, a citizen and national of El
Salvador, whom the New Jersey posse known as the ICE/ERO Newark Fugitive
Operations Unit "encountered" during Raven operation. HHS says he is a
known and verified member of MS-13.
SARAVIA-SANTAMARIA was served with Form I-200 Warrant of Arrest and I-286 Notice of Custody Redetermination.
The
ICE/ERO Newark Fugitive Operations Unit, NJ encountered SARAVIA
SANTAMARIA, Dennis Josue, a citizen and national of El Salvador,
pursuant to Raven operation and known and verified MS-13 gang
affiliation.
Chinchilla Caballero:
Ramos Marin:
On
April 9, 2025, United States Border Patrol - Intel Collection Team sent
a referral to ERO Newark identifying RAMOS MARIN as the subject of an
active INTERPOL Red Notice and a fugitive from justice in Brazil.
On
April 29, 2025, ERO Newark with the assistance of HSI SAC Newark and
CBP Newark arrested RAMOS MARIN (A234 578 034) in Newark, NJ pursuant to
a Warrant for Arrest of Alien, Form I-200, served him with a Notice to
Appear, Form I-862, and detained him in ICE custody without bond.
Maximo Nunez:
The post continued:
...assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and interfere with custody of children.
ERO Newark issued NUNEZ a Notice to Appear, and he will remain in ICE custody pending a removal hearing.
And lastly, Adonis Estevez Bello:
On May 5, 2025,
ICE Newark arrested Adonis ESTEVEZ Bello, a 23-year-old citizen of
Dominican Republic. ESTEVEZ has multiple felony convictions for
possession of a controlled dangerous substance, drug trafficking,
resisting arrest, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
ESTEVEZ has active gang affiliation with street gang “Dominicans don’t
play”. he will remain in ICE custody pending a removal hearing.
Unfortunately
for the more moderate members of the Democrat Party, many of the
radicals in their party on the far left seem happy flying their freak
flag over the issue du jour. They are hard-headed and never learn from
their mistakes--which isn't such a bad thing when they go ga-ga for
criminal detainees.
