The Conclave to choose a new pope started on Wednesday. It was an incredibly historic moment as the College of Cardinals filed into the Sistine Chapel, and the doors closed to begin the process. They already had one vote with no pope after the first day, so we saw the black smoke as a signal. It's unclear how long it will take, but it's generally two to three days. As New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan explained, they won't be talking to the public until they make a decision. Then we'll see the white smoke. That was all fine. It was what CBS anchor Tony Dokoupil
said in response. "I believe the kids call it 'rawdogging' if you're going to go through a long period of time with no electronic device," he explained. Oh, my. If he did understand the term, that would be even worse. CBS had already driven its credibility into the ground with things like the edited "60 Minutes" interview of Kamala Harris. This lack of sense didn't help them if they had a shred of credibility left. Add another bad move to the list that CBS is racking up. And you wonder why the public doesn't trust the media? Crazy things like this are high on the list. |
