Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) recently said, in response to the question of “who do you think leads the Democratic Party today?”:
I
think the TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) that — I think that’s the
leader right now. You know, right now our party, is, is governed by
the TDS, and now it’s made it virtually impossible, without being
punished, as a Democrat, to agree something’s good, or ‘I agree with the
other side,’ and I would define that by [Operation] Epic Fury.
Sen. Fetterman gets it.
But just to guard against
confirmation bias, I looked to other prominent Democrats to see what
they thought. Which brought me to the “Ragin' Cajun,” James Carville,
who is exceedingly “ragin” these days:
You’re
right, I got Trump Derangement Syndrome. I hate the motherf**ker. And
you know what? I don’t wanna get rid of it. I don’t wanna get better. I
wanna get worse. I wanna hate him more. I pray to God in heaven… Pray
for me, Lord. I’m your vessel on this earth. Pray for the people that
listen to this. We want more. We wanna hate the son of a b**ch so much
that we can’t see straight!
Carville also spoke for many other Democrat TDS sufferers to vow unrelenting jihad against the sitting president:
So
we’ve prayed together tonight. We will pray together more. But the one
thing we’re not gonna do, we’re not gonna f**king back off. Not any
time ever. We are not gonna back off. And you fat s**t, Trump, you
understand that. You understand how many f**king people in this country
agree with me and are praying to have the strength to even hate you more
than they hate you now. And I know you think you can’t, but I’m telling
you, if you work hard enough at it, you can hate him even more.
Even
non-political Democrats have acknowledged and bowed to the rampant TDS
in their party. Actor Jerry O’Connell, the star of the hit movie Stand
By Me, admitted
his own family threw a violent fit after he made offhanded critical
remarks about then-Vice President Kamala Harris losing to Donald Trump
in the 2024 presidential election.
I said something along the lines of ‘there was no
planning. This is what they get. There should have been a primary. I
said something along those lines, you know, like I was just spit-balling
ideas. My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical
with me. They were filled with rage. So if I am being careful with you
in how I say things, yes, I live in California. I live with not one, not
two, but three people who, if I made any kind of joke, they’d become
very angry with me.
And O’Connell was speaking merely as a Democrat who was critical of the Democrats because he wanted them to win.
Once
again, none of this is normal behavior for a political party. It is
both dangerous and crazy. And it will certainly not lead to good
results.
Since
President Trump began his second term in office, the Democrats have
raged against virtually all his actions, whatever the circumstances. So
far, the Democrats are on record as opposing:
The Trump
administration’s declaration of Operation Epic Fury, the U.S.-Israeli
strike on the Islamic regime in Iran. Despite the fact that the Iranian
regime has
been at war with the U.S. since 1979, periodically screaming “Death to
America,” taking American hostages, murdering more than a thousand
Americans, and attempting to assassinate American leadership. Despite
the fact that the Iranian regime was seeking nuclear weapons and the
intercontinental ballistic weapons to deliver them to the continental
U.S. Despite all this, the Democrats and the MSM – but I repeat myself –
sometimes seem to both support the brutal Iranian regime and desire
that the U.S. forces suffer casualties;
The Trump administration’s use
of ICE to follow longstanding federal laws and remove illegal aliens.
This includes attempts by the Trump administration to deport vicious
non-citizen criminal aliens who are terrorist supporters or criminal gangbangers who (allegedly) beat women and operate human smuggling rings. This has led the Democrats to demand
the defunding of ICE, which is as ridiculously impossible – some
government agency is needed to control illegal aliens and enforce the
law– as were earlier Democrat calls to defund local police forces. It
has also led their Antifa-led groups to resort to violence against ICE;
The Trump administration’s investigation of massive fraud, to the tune of possibly $9 billion in taxpayer money, by Somalian criminals who operated fake day care centers and, in some cases, allegedly funded terrorists;
The Trump administration’s crackdown
on leftist, antisemitic, Antifa rioters on college campuses, and its
efforts to get rid of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in
colleges and in government offices that receive federal funding while
discriminating against various disfavored sexual/racial/ethnic/religious
groupings, including males, Caucasians, Asians, and Jews.
The worst part of the wave of TDS is that many particularly
high-strung leftists/Democrats have been incited into violence during
the past decade. Twice, if not three times, there have been attempts on President Trump's life. A Bernie Bro shot up
a GOP congressional baseball practice in 2017. And there has been
repeated violence by leftist agitators against federal immigration
enforcement agents.
None of this will change any time soon. The Democrat elites continue to double down, stuck in that doom loop
I mentioned previously, and their fellow partisans echo their demands
and anger. Now, in addition to the violence they continue to embrace,
the elites threaten
more political lawfare against the Trump administration and its
supporters. And those Democrats who argue against the TDS, like Sen.
Fetterman, find themselves increasingly unpopular among the party membership.
Because of their raging TDS, the Democrats’ “ideology” has simply become “everything Trump is for, I am against.”
Which is NOT how to "keep a republic." Not at all.
