I think at this point, we know the Iranian regime is vile. We've seen it in how they've treated people for 47 years, from their earliest moments when they kidnapped Americans to their killing thousands of Iranian citizens for protesting in January. Then, over the past week, they tried to recruit 12-year-olds into the war effort, likely to help prop up their depleted forces. President Donald Trump threatened to hit power plants and bridges if Iran didn't open up the Strait of Hormuz by 8 p.m. EST Tuesday. Alireza Rahimi, Iran’s deputy minister of youth and sports, has called on Iranians, including youth, artists, and athletes, to form human chains at power plants across the country at 2 pm (10:30 GMT) tomorrow to denounce the U.S. bombing threats against the facilities.
They want to talk about power plants and bridges? You want to talk about a war crime? Using people as a human shield is a war crime, and using youth is particularly despicable. And I would question if this was voluntary, given how the regime operates. They know we care about life; they saw us go to great lengths to get an officer back when he was on the run for two days after he was shot down in Iran. Meanwhile, the regime couldn't give a darn about the lives of its people, and this shows just how desperate they are. And they're going to do this while their cowardly leaders are all hiding in bunkers, afraid of being eliminated by the U.S. or Israel. We haven't even seen the cardboard Supreme Leader since the start of the military action against Iran. Why doesn't Mojtaba Khamenei get out there - if he's alive? So, where are all the people on the left to condemn this truly ugly move by Iran? What about those weak European allies to call this out? I think talking about the power plants is a feint. He has a variety of options. So I think they will figure out a way around this move. |
