President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. Navy has seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman. Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday that the 900-foot-long ship attempted to run a blockade and ignored warnings to stop. He added that the United States responded by striking the vessel’s engine room. The ship is now in U.S. custody and has a long history of sanctions violations.  In a separate post, the president slammed Iran for firing on European ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, saying the U.S. is offering a fair deal he hopes they take. Trump warned that if they don’t take a deal, they will be brought down fast.  |
