AOC secures victory in New York’s 14th Congressional District primary

 



Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, best known as AOC, has prevailed over her challengers in the Democrat primary election for New York’s 14th Congressional District.

On Tuesday, the Associated Press called the race with 32% of the total votes counted, projecting AOC as the winner with 88.2% of the vote.

 ran uncontested, sending him straight to the November general election.

AOC faced a challenge from two other candidates, chiefly Marty Dolan (D-N.Y.), a moderate Democrat and former Wall Street investment banker who is ran a campaign explicitly positioned against “far-left radicalism.”

AOC’s other Democrat competitor, is a healthcare operations manager running on a platform focused on practical neighborhood solutions, safety and workforce pathways.

The 14th District is heavily progressive and considered a “safe Democrat” seat. Ocasio-Cortez will face off against Hysenaj in the general election on November 3, 2026.
