Trump: Ukraine, Russia agree to 'ENERGY CEASEFIRE'
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to an “ENERGY CEASEFIRE,” President Donald Trump announced.
In a Sunday morning Truth Social post, Trump gave the update on the war that has threatened global energy markets.
“Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine,” the U.S. commander-in-chief said. “Both parties have agreed. Do not break it!”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged Trump’s statement, voicing approbation, though he asserted that Russia had been deploying drones against Ukraine “all day today.”
“There have been glide bomb strikes and strikes on our energy infrastructure too,” he said. “A power plant in Kharkiv was attacked this evening.”
“We are awaiting clear details of the dialogue between America and Russia – and we expect Putin to follow through on what President Trump said,” he added.
Today, there was a statement from the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been secured. This is good news for everyone – and it is important that it become reality.

Moscow has reportedly not commented on the announcement as of Sunday.
Trump’s statement followed a Saturday night press gaggle at Joint Base Andrews, where he told reporters he believed Zelensky should hold an election.
“Well, I think he should have an election. And he could have settled this thing many times, and he should have an election,” Trump said. “President Zelensky could have solved this war or he could have made a deal many times.”
“I think that Russia would like to make a deal,” he added. “But as I said, this is something that could have been solved many times, but for whatever reason, Zelensky does not want to make a deal.”
Speaking to reporters earlier on Saturday outside of the White House, Trump criticized Zelensky’s actions during the war, sending a strong message to Ukrainians.
“He could have settled it many times and he chose not to. We said you could do whatever you want to Russia, don’t hit the refineries, because that’s a world problem that’s caused. And he wants to make problems for the world,” Trump said. “And what does he do? He goes and hits the diesel fuel.”
“I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal,” Trump advised the Ukrainian people.
