The late Sen. Lindsey Graham had one dying wish — the thing he fought
for behind the scenes: a nuclear deal between the United States and
Saudi Arabia, but only if the kingdom signed a peace agreement with
Israel and joined the Abraham Accords.
Friends of the senator say he would never have supported the current deal that offers quid but no pro quo from the Saudis.
The senator's passing opens the door for the deal to slip through Congress and may be a key reason it was announced.
On Wednesday, the U.S. said it had approved an agreement with Saudi
Arabia that would allow the kingdom to construct a nuclear power plant —
a move that would give Saudi Arabia the ability to enrich uranium under
limited safeguards.
Washington's decision has sparked alarm among some Middle East experts and outright condemnation from others.
“The U.S.-Saudi deal for a 'civilian' nuclear program — which
potentially, after a two-year study, includes permitting Saudi Arabia to
enrich uranium — is a serious mistake," said Morton Klein, president of
the influential Zionist Organization of America.
Klein noted the deal will "lead to widespread nuclear proliferation"
and opens the door for "an unstable Middle East nation potentially
obtaining nuclear weapons."
Other conservative critics are opposing the deal.
"25 years ago this 9/11 Saudi Arabia was behind the murder of
thousands of Americans," famed syndicated radio host Mark Levin said in a
post on X.
Levin added bluntly: "No nuke deals with Saudi Arabia.”
The pact, known as a 123 Agreement, was signed Wednesday by U.S.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz
bin Salman, who inked a preliminary accord in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
last year.
NBC News reported that although Congress will be required to vote on
the agreement, lawmakers would need a veto-proof majority to block it.
But congressional sources note the Saudis do not have strong support
among Democrats or Republicans and may face a formidable bipartisan
coalition opposing the deal.
According to the agreement, before any uranium enrichment could begin
on Saudi soil, a joint U.S.-Saudi team would first study whether
enrichment is warranted and commercially viable.
Only then would Americans build the facility without transferring the sensitive technology to the kingdom.
Israeli political leaders and experts also have raised concerns about the process.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett sharply criticized the proposed deal.
"The nuclear deal taking shape with Saudi Arabia over Israel's head
is a grave strategic failure that endangers our security," he said.
"Allowing uranium enrichment on Saudi soil could trigger a regional
nuclear arms race and lead to a highly dangerous loss of control,"
Bennett added.
Saudi Arabia has consistently resisted U.S. efforts for it to join
the Abraham Accords, like its neighbors United Arab Emirates and
Bahrain.
"We have to keep a very careful eye on Saudi Arabia," Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax.
"It is a friend today but was an enemy in the past. We should be concerned about its status in the future."
Apparently absent from Wednesday's announced agreement is the
International Atomic Energy Agency's typical protocol, which would
require monitoring, inspections, and verification.
Both The Times of Israel and The New York Times reported that former
President Joe Biden conditioned nuclear cooperation on the Saudis
normalizing ties with Israel.
Former Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman told The Times of
Israel, "Everyone needs to understand that the Saudi civilian nuclear
program will end up with nuclear weapons and lead to a mad arms race
across the entire Middle East."
Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., also questioned the deal, which does not appear to have safeguards in place.
"We can't hand Saudi Arabia the keys to nuclear tech while ignoring its desire for nuclear weapons," he said.
Opposition is also mounting on Capitol Hill.
"Israeli sources warn the provision could spur regional proliferation
if Washington ultimately allows Riyadh to enrich uranium on its own
soil," Israeli newspaper Haaretz wrote.
Graham, shortly before his death, said that he planned to oppose any
regional deal with Iran if it did not include the Saudis normalizing
relations with Israel.
Graham wrote he would "never support" such a deal.
According to Axios, the South Carolina Republican spent his final
weeks laying the groundwork for a renewed push to broker a historic
Saudi-Israeli normalization deal.
Graham had been harshly critical of the Saudis for not fully supporting U.S. efforts in the recent conflict with Iran.
On March 9, Graham said in a post on X that the U.S. should reconsider its security agreements with Riyadh.
"Americans are dying and the U.S. is spending billions to dislodge
the terrorist Iranian regime that threatens the region," Graham wrote.
"Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia seems to be issuing statements and doing
things in the background that are marginally helpful, but unwilling to
participate in military operations to end the reign of terror coming out
of Iran," he said.
The Associated Press reported that the nuclear pact is expected to
last 30 years and involve U.S. companies in the development program.
The U.S.-Saudi nuclear deal is a 30-year agreement worth tens of billions of dollars to U.S. companies.
Though it's troubling on one hand, on the other, you just have to
laugh at Democrats and the lengths they'll go to in order to try and
thwart the will of the people in their party when it comes to nominees
for public office.
One example that immediately comes to mind, of course, is how
then-President Joe Biden was treated by party "leaders" after his
disastrous June 2024 debate performance. As RedState readers will
recall, he was essentially forced out of the race three weeks later, and
then endorsed his veep, Kamala Harris, who went on to become the Dem
nominee and then lost bigly to Donald Trump.
The other is Graham Platner,
who initially seemed like a Teflon candidate who could literally get
away with anything in the 2026 Maine Senate primary, including sexism,
racism, homophobia, alleged domestic abuse, spousal cheating, etc. But
when rape allegations
hit, the pressure was put on Platner by establishment Dems, and he
ended up suspending his campaign in early July, roughly a month after
Maine's Democrat voters chose him to be the nominee.
In
addition to the Nazi tattoo, one of the issues Platner's critics
repeatedly brought up about him was his sordid Internet history, which
included - among other things - sexual assault victim shaming, making
crude "jokes" about self-pleasuring in a porta-potty, denigrating the
military service of a fellow veteran who was seriously injured by enemy
fire during the Afghanistan war - and wishing he had died.
As it turns out, there is another Democrat contender for public
office who it was just recently discovered has some Platneresque
problems of his own. For establishment Democrats, the timing couldn't be
worse because - as RedState reported
- the supposedly "electable" candidate, Milwaukee County Executive
David Crowley, was convinced to re-enter the Wisconsin governor's race
just days ago after previously dropping out.
Why did they get him
to jump back into the race? Because Democrat Party leaders in the
Badger State were terrified DSA state Rep. Francesca Hong, who is
gaining in popularity among Democrat voters, would win the August 11
primary - and then lose to GOP Rep. Tom Tiffany (WI-07), the
Trump-backed presumptive GOP nominee. And former Lt. Gov. Mandela
Barnes, the other Dem candidate in the race after current Lt. Gov. Sara
Rodriguez exited under a cloud of campaign finance questions, is
considered "too progressive."
As to the self-inflicted scandal
Crowley and the state's Democratic leadership now find themselves in,
here are some of the deets (language warning):

Here's
one area where this scandal differs a bit from the various Platner
Reddit post controversies: Platner took ownership of what he wrote
(though he claimed he was a "different person" now). But the Gov. Tony
Evers-backed Crowley and his campaign are saying that though he had
access to the account in question, he didn't write the offensive posts:

posts were written in first person and were clearly about Crowley:

Also, as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel observed, the bio for the X account reads "A different side of me...," which doesn't sound like an account run by "10-12 people."
The account is still active as of this writing, and includes other embarrassing gems, like this one:
Now,
here is what I think is the "tell" that Crowley is... not being honest
about who ran that account. Notice how both he and his campaign were
careful to note that the posts were from "a decade and a half ago." Why
would that matter except to downplay their current significance, as if
to imply "Even if it was something I wrote back then, I'm not the same person today"?
That
would be something important for Wisconsin voters to know, and to
evaluate. But even if there was a way to confirm the posts were indeed
written by him, I could see a scenario where Crowley claims he was
"young and foolish," something we saw play out to some extent in a Utah
Democrat House primary. But Crowley was a grown man in his early to mid 20s when that stuff was written, so that excuse wouldn't necessarily fly.
In any event, it remains to be seen how this plays out among Democrat
voters and those same establishment Democrats who rushed to pull
Crowley back in to try and save the day. Relatedly, there's a Democrat
gubernatorial debate coming up soon, which promises to be quite lively
in light of recent events:

On Wednesday, President Trump
held a rally at Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA, to highlight the
administration's economic policies and promote the candidacies of
Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson and Republican nominee for
United States Senate, Rep. Mike Collins (GA-10).
After remarks from Jackson, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, and
SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, Trump took the stage to rousing
applause and greeted the crowd in Wheeler Auditorium.

"He's lying, he's lying." They are sick individuals, they're the fake
news.
Trump then expressed his love and support for the state, saying:

Trump continued, acknowledging that he came straight to Georgia from Dover Air Force Base, where he attended the dignified transfer service
and paid homage to four fallen heroes who were killed in action in the
Iran conflict. Trump then spoke about First Lt. Tyler Feehan from Georgia.
After the dignified transfer, Feehan's family - his mother Shari, his
father Stephen, and his uncle David - were headed back home, so
President Trump transported them home on Air Force One.
Trump gave a beautiful homage to Lt. Feehan and to his family.

Trump also took potshots at Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), the radical Left,
and talked about the lies of the Democrat Socialists and the
destructiveness of communism.

people everywhere and in the world. It's squalor, it's poverty, it's
death, it's destruction. That's why we declare again today that the
United States of America will never be a communist country."

And what would a Trump appearance be without the Trump/YMCA Dance? As usual, the president did not disappoint.
Here’s my minority position – I think Republicans
are set to do surprisingly well in the 2026 midterms and very, very well
in 2028. Oh, I don’t put it beyond the Republicans to screw up any
advantage they’ve been handed. Republicans have the uncanny ability to
squander a good thing, but what the Democrats are handing over is pure
electoral gold. If you look at the relative positioning of both parties
in terms of future electoral success, there is zero question that the
Republican Party is much better situated to begin a lengthy sojourn in
power. The Democrats have walked themselves into a minefield, and
they’ve got no map.
Let’s take a look at a few of these land mines. Some of them are
obvious, some a lot less so. Will they all fully manifest by 2028? No,
some will arise in later cycles. What’s important to remember is that
even if the Democrats were aware of them, there’s not a lot they can do
about them. One of the problems with the Democrats is that, ironically,
the liberals are absolutely resistant to change; they not only don’t
want to do it, but they can’t do it. They’ve confused their ideology
with a religion, limiting the ability of Democrat politicians to
exercise a key tool in any effective politician's toolbox – the
flexibility to do a 180 on their most deeply-held beliefs when it makes
sense at election time.
The first land mine is an obvious one, but
that’s not going to stop them from stomping on it. The Democrats are
going harder and harder left. Right now, the success of the socialist
insurgents has been limited to deep blue districts. Where they try to do
it in more purple areas, they have more mixed success. In Virginia,
they managed to elect a sociopath as AG who wants to kill the kids of
Republicans to teach them to be good people. It didn’t work in Maine,
though; Herr Platner got punted after he was accused of going a rape too
far.
Normal Americans don’t like the weird stuff Democrats are
getting into. There’s the transsexual stuff, of course. Normal Americans
are getting tired of that freak show, but Democrats are doubling and
tripling down on it. It’s become a litmus test for them, depriving them
of crucial flexibility. They need to reach out to normal people who
don’t think some dude should be sporting his turgid pride as he walks
through a girl’s locker room. But also, there’s their whole thing about
criminals. Normal people are against being murdered. Democrats are going
to get painted as enabling the worst of social pathologies, just like
they did in the 70s, which helped Ronald Reagan and the GOP take over
until Bill Clinton came along and was able to lead a Democrat Party back
to at least a semblance of sanity.
There’s a procedural land mine that President Trump has been talking
about for years – election fraud. Fraud is a huge part of how they win.
It is not going to go away in one fell swoop – the GOP simps are too
weak to pass the SAVE Act – but it’s going to be curbed over time. Take
voter ID – it is unsustainable for the Democrats to keep to the 20 side
of an 80/20 issue forever. Nor can Democrat judges sitting in the
Tatooine Federal District Court protect the fraud forever. Between the
reforms Trump can impose (it looks like his mail-in voting postal
regulations are going into effect), the revelations from the multiple
investigations, and the reputational damage to Democrats defending shady
practices (is California still counting from last June?), we’re going
to end a lot of the scams and run down their reputations as the die on
the hill of protecting the remaining grifts.
Another land mine is
the swap out at the top of the Democrats’ racial hierarchy. Democrats
have always been about constituencies, knitting them together to form a
majority. But it’s always in flux. The white working class used to be a
big piece of the puzzle, and the Democrats dumped them. In the last few
cycles, Democrats have lost their headlock on Hispanics, who don’t
appreciate weirdness, and many of whom have personal experience with
communism. There’s a lot of talk about how Dems grabbed the affluent
college-educated whites who used to be Republican voters, and that’s
true, to an extent. But a lot of these are wine women, particularly
single ones and including young ones, and they’re psychotic and will
further alienate normal people (married women still prefer Republicans).
But
the big problem for Democrats is their biggest and most loyal
constituency, blacks. We’re already seeing the fallout in Texas, where
the darling of the faculty/Chardonnay set, heretical imp James Talarico,
defeated noted particle physicist Jasmine Crockett in the Senate
primary. Well, Jazzy C and black Texans aren’t taking that very well.
They believe, not without merit, that they have been ripped off. And
they have been. Democrats take blacks for granted, which is the fault of
blacks because they’ve allowed themselves, until now, to be taken for
granted. But a black woman just roasted Talarico
at one of his rallies, bringing this to a head. He’s already a problem
because, well, blacks tend to be religious, and this guy is a
blasphemous demon in human form who spreads satanic lies that will lead
the unwary to eternal damnation. Black folk aren’t down with that. And
it’s only going to get worse for the Democrats because blacks across the
country are going to demand their share of the power, power that the
ascendant leftists want for themselves.
There is also the 2030 census, which will likely put the House out of
reach of Democrats for a decade. Democrat failure is driving people
from blue states to red states. The coming redistricting, along with the
intermittent demonstrations of GOP manhood via gerrymandering, are
going to crush the Dems. And if we go for the big enchilada, banning the
counting of illegal aliens in the census, the Dems are screwed.
There
is another land mine, the baby bomb. Democrats aren’t breeding like
conservatives. A lot of them are single women who have no intention of
settling down and having children; when they do get knocked up, abortion
remains readily available in blue states, and they make use of it. This
blends with another problem for the Democrats, which is that a lot of
their boomer base is aging out. If you recall those rallies for the Nazi
tattoo guy, behind him on stage were always a bunch of gray crones who
all looked like Billy Jack’s girlfriend.
They’re not going to be around that much longer, and they are some of
the Dems’ most devoted voters. Gen X is much more conservative; we have
the advantage of being around for another couple of decades.
And
there are other effects that come from Democrats not reproducing,
besides upping the average IQ and attractiveness of Americans. The birth
dearth means fewer kids being indoctrinated in grade schools and
colleges. Academia is where the Democrats not only found places for
their members to get paid but gave them a chance to corrupt our youth.
But fewer kids mean fewer unionized teachers paying union dues, while a
lot of colleges are going away in the bankruptcy. That's fewer dollars
and fewer worker bees making mischief. Combined with new technology that
is making old education methods obsolete, as well as cost
considerations and conservative attention that is going to work to
undermine the leftist hold on these institutions, academia writ large is
going to stop being so influential. Democrats have become fatally
over-invested in their own version of the buggy whip industry.
Immigration is going to continue to be a huge problem for the
Democrats because they’re not going to be able to import a brand-new
electorate from the Third World to make into welfare clients and
electoral serfs. Deportations are ongoing, but the Republican goal isn’t
to drag them all out of the country. It’s to drive them all out of the
country. Initiatives like Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent leaning on
the banks and other industries not to do business with them, as well as
other reforms that make it unbearable to live here as an illegal, are
going to make them pack up and go home in numbers that dwarf what ICE is
doing. With the open door at the border slammed shut, the only way to
generate more of these people is through birthright citizenship, and the
recent Supreme Court decision, while not overturning it, began a
discussion that’s inevitably going to lead to reforms that limit it.
Here
are some other things that the Democrats might find blow them up. The
mainstream media may dismiss the government handout fraud stuff that
we’ve been seeing, but fraud resonates. From California’s high-speed
rail that’s cost billions of dollars and built about 15 inches of track,
to massive Somali learing center schemes, to corrupt USAID payoffs to
leftist NGOs and beyond, the crackdown is both going to starve the
Democrats of money looted from the treasury and laundered into the
pockets of the left and closely associated Democrats with fraud in the
minds of the voters.
Then there’s something they really can blame
on the Jews. The Dems will have to deal with Jews’ sense of
self-preservation as the Democrats fully embrace their new Hamas
constituency and work to ensure Israel and the Israelis are annihilated.
That’s not putting it too harshly – if you’re Jewish, you can’t take
any threat too seriously, and this is a threat. Jewish Democrats are
enormous donors to the Democrat Party, and that flow of dollars is going
to shrink to a trickle that’s not going to be made up by a bunch of new
Dems just imported from Goatbangistan. The money might not go to
Republicans – that’s a bridge too far for a lot of liberal Jews – but it
isn’t going to the Palisimpian Democrats. We’ve seen massive shortfalls
in Democrat donations this cycle, and that was before half of the House
Democrat caucus voted to render Israel defenseless in the face of the
psychopaths who committed the October 7th attacks.
Here’s another ka-boom that’s coming that only a few people
are talking about right now. Cuba is about to go under. The clock is
ticking, and the commie dictatorship has maybe got a year or so left.
Here’s the Dems’ problem. The Dirección de Inteligencia (DI) has spent

you’re a high-ranking DI officer, you’re going to want to make American
intelligence an offer it can’t refuse to save your worthless hide, and
that means trading stolen records on the DI’s intelligence network in
the United States that includes prominent Democrats. That’s going to
happen, and it’s going to be earth-shattering. People throw the word
“treason” around a lot, but working with the communists to subvert the
United States is literally treason, and it’s been happening. Do not
expect the Trump administration to forgive and forget, and even the
regime media is going to be unable to hide the indictments. The
Democrats will, correctly, be painted as the party of traitors.
Let’s
also not forget the collapse of captured institutions. We mentioned
academia’s decline, but look at the mainstream media and Hollywood. Both
are going away. Moreover, the decades of corporate footsie with
Democrats will end as the business world realizes that the DSA types
can’t be bought off like the old school Pelosi Dems could be. Plus,
there is a generalized anti-woke counter-reaction that places PC
Democrats with their spouting off on woke nonsense outside of the
zeitgeist. Their own base won’t let them moderate; they’ll be telling us
dudes can menstruate for another decade even as over-it normals shake
their heads in disgust.
So, I like how the Republicans are positioned over the next decade or
so. In the short term, the Trump economy is going to take off again.
We’re going to clear out the illegals one way or the other, and we’re
going to continue to drive crime down. Long-term, we’re having babies,
and the future belongs to people who show up. Importantly, we’re not
traitors colluding with a foreign government to undermine our country.
But
then again, we are Republicans, and the fact remains that the
Republican Party is the only party that can summon up enough dumb to
squander these advantages.
has won the Democrat primary for Arizona’s 1st
congressional district. It was a tense race for Democrats: winning is
crucial if they want to take back the House, but it was also highly
competitive. Millions were spent attacking Shah, especially by the
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. So, things are pretty
awkward right now, but fury from the Democratic base is extremely high.
Arizona isn’t the only place where DCCC meddling has angered Democrats

House Democrats are demanding a reckoning after the
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spent over $500,000 backing a
candidate in Arizona who is on track to lose her primary.
Why it
matters: This is the third time in 2026 the House Democratic campaign
arm has tried and failed to intervene in a party primary, leading some
lawmakers to argue that its money is better spent elsewhere.
Rep.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a top DCCC dues payer, said the party
should be "rationing our resources to win general elections," calling
for "a conversation about ... what the involvement in primaries looks
like."
"That's $100,000 that I put in," Rep. Delia Ramirez
(D-Ill.) said of her dues, arguing that the DCCC "shouldn't be spending
this money" on primaries.
Driving the news: Former Arizona state
Rep. Amish Shah led former TV journalist Marlene Galán-Woods in the
Democratic primary in Arizona's 1st district by roughly seven percentage
points as of Wednesday evening.
With 87% of the votes reporting,
Galán-Woods "still has a chance," but "I would much rather be Shah than
her," one House Democrat who has followed the race closely told Axios.
The
DCCC ran a $514,000 joint ad buy with the Galán-Woods campaign after
endorsing her as part of its "Red to Blue" program in June, according to
AdImpact.
Zoom out: This latest loss for the DCCC comes after it
fell short in California's 22nd District, where progressive activist
Randy Villegas won in an upset over more moderate state Assembly member
Jasmeet Bains in June.
Later that month, DCCC-endorsed state Sen. Joe Baldacci lost to progressive rival Matt Dunlap in Maine's 2nd District.

Behind the scenes, some of the DCCC's top dues payers are even more
livid. "People are mad," a senior House Democrat told Axios.
Said
one House Democrat who has paid all their dues: "I would prefer to see
the dollars that I invest spent on candidates who won their Democratic
primaries rather than have the DCCC inject themselves."
"The DCCC
is not god," the lawmaker added. "They cannot dictate outcomes. There
needs to be an acknowledgment that there's a limit to the ability of the
DCCC to choose what it considers to be the perfect candidate."
Another
House Democrat who is also paid up in full told Axios the DCCC
"shouldn't be taking a position in a primary unless everybody agrees,
and I'm not aware anyone was consulted."

The House of Representatives has passed legislation restricting
congressional stock trading while enacting new federal voter ID
requirements, largely backed by Republican lawmakers.
On Wednesday afternoon, the House passed the Stop Insider Trading Act by a 232-198 vote, which included 13 Democrats and all GOP house members, after months of debate.
The Stop Insider Trading Act, which was introduced by
Representative Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) in January, would prohibit lawmakers
and their families from purchasing publicly traded stocks. It would
also mandate members of Congress to publicly report each sale of stocks
at least seven days in advance to the House clerk or Senate secretary,
according to CBS news.
Additionally, the act penalizes violations with a fine of $2,000 or
10% of the transaction value — whichever is higher — plus the forfeiture
of any realized profits.
“This measure ensures that lawmakers cannot use their position to
profit from insider information gathered while serving in Congress,”
Steil said on Monday.
Republicans also paired the stock trading restriction with an
unrelated provision mandating photo ID for federal elections, aligning
with President Donald Trump’s push for stricter voter-eligibility rules.
Representative Zach Nunn, (R-Iowa), a leading proponent of banning
lawmakers from trading stocks, argued that combining the two measures
makes sense given their widespread public support.
“The overwhelming majority of Americans want this,” Nunn told Fox News,
adding that it could quickly reach the president’s desk. “Only in
Washington can you have two wins for 90% of Americans, and Democrats
will say that’s one win too many.”

However, Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) called out his own
party for pairing the stock trading ban with the voter ID rule, arguing
the move was meant to force Democrats into a tough political vote rather
than actually pass voter ID.
“We are voting on a stock trading ban for members of Congress… BUT
Republicans added voter-ID in the legislation. Not to get Dems to vote
for voter-ID, but to get them to vote against the stock trading ban, so
they can use it in the Nov. election,” Massie wrote on X. “If we really
wanted to ban stock trading for members of Congress, we would offer
stand alone legislation and could get a large bipartisan majority, and
the bill would have a chance of passing on the Senate.”

Why conservatives should both applaud and worry
Conservatives
should applaud decisive action to defend childhood from addictive
algorithms. Unlike the United States, where Congress dithers, France
moved from proposal to law in one presidential term. That’s refreshing.
But conservatives should also worry about the precedent of state tech
policing. Government‑mandated age checks can become blunt instruments
that erode privacy and parental responsibility. The right policy is to
support families and give schools tools — not create an endless
compliance regime that hands more power to regulators and tech
gatekeepers.

Former NFL kicker Jay Feely and former Sheriff
Mark Lamb, both backed by President Donald Trump, won their Arizona
Republican U.S. House primary races Tuesday night, delivering another
round of victories for candidates endorsed by the president in one of
the nation's top political battlegrounds.
Feely easily captured
the GOP nomination in Arizona's competitive 1st Congressional District,
defeating former state Rep. Joseph Chaplik after running a campaign
centered on his close ties to Trump and his commitment to advancing the
president's "America First" agenda.
The former Arizona Cardinals kicker repeatedly highlighted his
personal relationship with Trump, arguing that he could provide direct
access to the White House.
Trump endorsed Feely after the former NFL Pro Bowler shifted from the
5th District race to the open 1st District race earlier this year,
clearing the way for former Arizona GOP Chair Gina Swoboda to pursue a
statewide campaign.
According to Politico,
Feely will now face a difficult general election in November in the
suburban Phoenix district, one of House Democrats' top pickup targets
after Trump narrowly carried it in the 2024 presidential election.
Meanwhile, former Pinal County Sheriff Lamb prevailed
in the Republican primary for Arizona's deep-red 5th Congressional
District despite months of attacks centered on allegations of sexual
misconduct and abuse of power.
Lamb defeated businessman Daniel Keenan, who spent nearly $2 million
of his own money attempting to make the allegations the defining issue
of the race.
Lamb has repeatedly denied the accusations, calling them false and politically motivated.
His campaign also rejected claims published by the Arizona Republic,
while his wife publicly defended him amid what she described as a
coordinated smear campaign.
Trump stood firmly behind Lamb throughout the race, reaffirming his
endorsement earlier this month after first backing the former sheriff
last year.
Turning Point USA also supported Lamb's candidacy.
CBS News reported that Lamb's victory positions him as the overwhelming favorite to replace outgoing Republican Rep. Andy Biggs, who secured the GOP nomination for Arizona governor.
USA Today
said Tuesday's results underscored the continued strength of Trump's
endorsements in Arizona, where Republican primary voters overwhelmingly
sided with candidates aligned with the president's MAGA movement.
The victories by Feely and Lamb also reinforced Trump's influence
heading into the midterms as Republicans seek to defend their House
majority while competing in one of the nation's most closely watched
swing states.
