Trump Ends Medicaid Funds for Youth Trans Care

The Trump administration said Tuesday it plans to implement a rule that will end the use of federal Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program funding for gender-transition medical care for children and adolescents.

President Donald Trump announced the move on Truth Social, saying he directed Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, to end federal Medicaid funding for gender-transition surgeries and hormones for minors.

"Today, at my direction, Dr. Mehmet Oz announced that Medicaid will NO LONGER fund gender transition surgeries and hormones for minors," Trump wrote.

"We are not going to pay for our innocent children to undergo these barbaric surgeries and practices, which result in unthinkable and irreversible harm to their young bodies," he added.

Trump said that pressure from his administration over the past year and a half had already led dozens of U.S. hospitals to end what he called "so-called 'gender-affirming care,'" adding that he expects more hospitals to follow.

"Just think about all of the young, innocent, and perhaps confused children who will be spared!" Trump wrote.

The rule, which is scheduled to take effect Oct. 13, would prohibit federal funding through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) from being used for treatments including puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender-transition surgery.

 

States could continue using their own funds to cover such treatments.

Gender-transition surgeries are rare among minors.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said the decision followed a Department of Health and Human Services review of U.S. and international research into gender-transition treatment for minors.

According to CMS, the review identified "significant evidence gaps, documented serious safety concerns, and concluded that the evidence supporting these interventions for children remains insufficient to justify federal taxpayer funding."

The administration did not provide details Tuesday about the specific evidence underlying those conclusions.

Gender-transition care can include mental health services and medical treatments intended to align a person's physical characteristics with their gender identity.

Some of the medications used in gender-transition treatment, including puberty blockers and hormones, are also prescribed to cisgender children for other medical conditions.

The new rule does not affect federal coverage of mental health services for children.

Major U.S. medical organizations have supported access to gender-transition treatment when provided under established clinical guidelines.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness has said research indicates access to such care can improve mental health outcomes, including among young people, while denying care can worsen mental health symptoms and increase the risk of suicide.

The policy comes amid broader efforts by Republican-led states to restrict gender-transition procedures for minors. Twenty-seven states have enacted restrictions on such care for children, according to KFF, a health policy research organization.

Trump also tied the administration's action to the November midterm elections, contrasting the Republican position with that of Democrats.

"While the Dumocrat Party wants your kids to be able to chop off their reproductive organs before they are old enough to vote, President Donald J. Trump (ME!) and the Republican Party say that is ABSURD, and we will protect America's children," Trump wrote.

"Please remember this when you are casting your vote in the Midterm Elections in November," he said.

Report: AOC Secretly Split From Fiancé — But That's Not Even the Craziest Part

We know that progressives are masters of misdirection, but this would be taking it to the next level.

TMZ is reporting that Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), fresh off an egg-freezing reveal, "split" from her fiancé Riley Roberts and called off their engagement.

AOC did not publicly confirm the news, but TMZ also noted that the New York congresswoman had "no comment."

There's a reason Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn't mentioning her fiancé Riley Roberts when she talks about freezing her eggs ... TMZ has confirmed they broke up.

AOC and Riley actually split roughly two years ago, and called off their engagement, according to Puck's Chief Washington Correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell ... who was first to report the couple's demise.

Multiple sources on Capitol Hill tell TMZ, it's felt like ages since the pair were seen together publicly. That's not hyperbole ... Riley and AOC were last photographed at 2021's Met Gala.

About a year later, in May 2022, the congresswoman confirmed she and RR were engaged. While we've confirmed they're dunzo, we can't say for certain when the break-up went down.

 

Whether or not there is more to the story, it would seem to be part of the puzzle of why AOC felt the need to tell everyone she was freezing her eggs.

As my RedState colleague Rusty Weiss remarked, the entire episode seemed to be "bizarre" from the very beginning.

Ocasio-Cortez weirdly posted videos of herself injecting the hormones to initiate the process, demanding that viewers "don’t be weird about this."

“Usually, I keep my private life quite private, but I have made the decision to start freezing my eggs, and I want to share that with anyone who is — and I want to share this because I was weighing it for a very long time, and I think that, you know, I was saving for it for a very long time, and there just isn’t a ton out there, I feel, and sometimes it can feel very daunting,” she said.

AOC also framed the procedure as one of the peculiar burdens facing ambitious women that male politicians don't encounter.

"This is just not something that men deal with," she said. "Men run for office, or frankly, they interview for jobs and people don't think in the back of their mind, 'OK this guy's running for office, how old is he? Oh, well, is he gonna wanna start a family?'"

"And because women can do anything, and I think it's bada** that I'm going to be giving myself shots in the green room [as I] get my glam on," she added.

Sometimes I lose track of whether or not we live in a patriarchy of men oppressing women, or if men can simply imagine themselves as "egg-freezing females" and get off the hook.

Nonetheless, this publicity stunt also smacks like one of AOC's "trap" posts that are thrown out there to fish for negative comments. Then she can pose as a "victim."

Back to the reported break-up. The couple's last widely circulated public photographs together date back to the infamous 2021 Met Gala, where Ocasio-Cortez wore her white "Tax the Rich" dress.

She announced the engagement the following year. But more recently, observers noticed she was no longer wearing her engagement ring, the Daily Mail reports.

AOC was also out in public, touting her strength training regimen. Coincidence?

At the end of the day, AOC's personal news is mainly consequential for her expected presidential run in 2028. She would not only be the first woman to become president if, God forbid, she were able to win, but she would potentially be unmarried.

A huge part of the American electorate might see her as even more out-of-touch with their daily challenges than she already seems, given that she is not personally sharing in the difficulties of raising the next generation.

That may be what the entire "egg-freezing" episode was all about: Preserving the optics that she wants to be a mother, while not being in a committed relationship that might produce a child.

The Democrat Party, certainly, is dominant when it comes to getting the single mother and unmarried vote. But a woman running without a significant other or child might be a red flag for many voters with children. 

There is another aspect to the spin we've seen lately around AOC. The news media is running a smokescreen for the literal Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member, pretending that she is not "actually" a DSA member.

Jessica Tarlov claims AOC now is a "Moderate Dem" as compared to the "core DSA wing."

Scott Galloway agrees that this is a "fair point."

Rubio Delivers Comedy Gold: Roasts Hegseth’s Arrogant Cat and RFK’s Meat Cooler

Who knew that Marco Rubio's comedic chops extended well beyond that viral meme showing him slouched on a sofa in the Oval Office?

In a recent interview on the Katie Miller Podcast, the Secretary of State and likely future Republican presidential candidate showed off his comedic chops. Landing subtle punchlines. Hitting the audience with dry, observational humor. And leaving viewers genuinely amused by his comments.

That gift for humor was on full display in a pair of recent clips that have been making the rounds on social media, where he turns a "neighbor’s" cat and a fellow Cabinet member’s diet into some quality entertainment.

You know, if this whole politics thing doesn't work out, this kid might have a bright future on the stand-up scene.

 

First up, Rubio decides to roast War Secretary Pete Hegseth and his penchant for feline pets. 

"I never took Pete for a cat guy," he begins, prompting him to launch into a description of why cats, Hegseth's in particular, can sometimes be jerks.

"One of Pete's cats, oftentimes I'll get home at night, and the cat is just sitting on my porch and just looks at me like, 'What are you doing here?'" he added. "Like that kind of attitude about it."

Rubio's wife, Jeanette, tries to make the save for Hegseth, suggesting the cats were his kids' idea. 

"But the cat is a very arrogant cat," Rubio interjects, seemingly unable to let it go.

"To be honest, it's a very arrogant cat because the cat is on my porch acting like, you know, 'What are you doing in my house?'" he relayed. "It's like, it's not your house; your house is two doors down."

Rubio added that he can approach the kitten and it doesn't even flinch. Acts as if you're not even there.

Next up on the roast is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Now, we all know RFK is known as a little bit of an eccentric health nut. A man's man when it comes to diet and exercise, if you will.

Rubio is asked if he's adopted RFK’s strict regimen of red meat and fermented vegetables. Which the former senator promptly describes as a "crazy diet.”

"This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat. 

Now, you understand like, this is not a sustainable thing," he quipped. "You can't just walk into ... He has to travel with coolers."

"I'm not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It's ridiculous. I can't do it."

When asked if he is MAHA, Rubio says he supports MAHA, prompting his wife to chime in that he's "completely not." She rats him out for eating Pop-Tarts instead, leading to Rubio launching unfettered praise for the breakfast pastry.

"The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in history," he deadpans. "It comes in a beautiful foil package."

Fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld would likely agree. His colleague, Gary Gulman, might disagree.

Gulman once joked that the very name is fraudulent because a real tart is three-dimensional with actual fruit chunks while a Pop-Tart is barely dimensional and contains only “a suggestion of a rumor of a whisper of fruit.” 

He drives the point home with the analogy that “the tart is to the Pop-Tart as the grizzly bear is to the gummy bear.”

Rubio will no doubt eventually end up pictured in one of these memes as a cat wrangler or a worker at the Pop-Tart factory. Perhaps the only thing keeping him from headlining comedy clubs is the minor inconvenience of still having to run American foreign policy.

 

Why the Indiana Fever's Coach Threw an Epic Tantrum

Holy hell, lady. This isn’t about divisive narratives — it’s about the WNBA being run by idiots, supported by whack jobs, and folks who just can’t get out of their own way. They’re killing this golden opportunity to stay relevant. Over the weekend, the Indiana Fever played the Chicago Sky, winning 90-86, but Sophie Cunningham was walloped by the Sky’s DiJonai Carrington. It was a hard foul: she clotheslined her. Carrington was ejected from the game, where she tweeted “white privilege,” adding another chapter to this circus. 

 

Cunningham has been even-keeled throughout the backlash regarding her stance on transgenders participating in women’s sports and the foul. The Fever star added that she committed a similar foul last year, got ejected for it, and she deserved it. Race had nothing to do with the foul. Fever coach Stephanie White initially said, “She’s [ DiJonai] going to compete, no one’s going to walk in for an easy layup, so I don’t oppose the hard foul.”

Well, now White is seething that she got dragged over those remarks. Also, did she admit she didn’t see the play? What the hell is going on here 

About two hours before Stephanie White appeared for her regular pregame media availability Tuesday, graphite-colored storm clouds rolled over Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the city skyline. The Indiana Fever coach later produced more thunder than any of them.

Railing against calls for her firing and an “online community that’s trying to create narratives that simply don’t exist,” White made an impassioned two-minute statement defending her relationship with the Fever players, occasionally pounding the table and leaving the dais without taking questions.

“The hate, the fear-mongering, the divisiveness, the stuff that’s trying to hijack our league will not win,” White said, banging her fist to underscore the last three words. “It won’t win. We are united. We are connected. We will not be divided. Every day these women put their ass on the line. Every day. When they go low, we go high. Love will win. Grace will win. Humility will win. And kindness will win.

“I stand by them, I will always stand by them. Everybody else can go to hell.”

Yeah, stop doing stupid s**t, and the noise will die down. It’s assured, coach. 

 

Meet Democrats’ Socialist Senate Nominee in Minnesota: Peggy Flanagan

Minnesota's Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan just won the primary race to be her state's next Senator. Despite a brutal and messy primary, Flanagan is yet another socialist to declare victory and kick a moderate Democrat to the curb. Her victory mirrors Abdul El-Sayed's win in Michigan; both were backed by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

But Flanagan's tenure in Minnesota has been plagued by scandal, controversies, and radical policy positions. As Tim Walz's second-in-command, Flanagan oversaw at least $9 billion in welfare fraud. Instead of holding the fraudsters accountable, Flanagan pandered to the Somali community by wearing a hijab and calling them the "fabric" of the Minnesota community.

Her green agenda would cause utility bills in Minnesota to skyrocket and create an unreliable green energy infrastructure that will not stand up to the state's brutal winter weather. This includes ending the use of reliable and abundant fossil fuels in favor of solar energy. 

Like her fellow socialists, Flanagan wants to abolish ICE and protect violent, dangerous criminal illegal aliens. 

She even went so far as to tell Minnesotans to put their bodies on the line to protect illegal aliens in their neighborhoods. She also says we need to "re-imagine" the police, which is just a campaign-friendly way of saying Flanagan wants to defund the police. In a statement released on the anniversary of George Floyd's death,

 

 Flanagan said, "We must re-imagine how we approach the issue of public safety overall. I am very clear that if Minnesota is safer for the black community, it is safer for all of us." After the George Floyd riots in 2020, Flanagan blamed "white supremacists" and claimed they caused the $500 million in damage in Minneapolis.

Flanagan also supports Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All scheme, which would give "free" healthcare to illegal aliens while making taxes skyrocket for American citizens and reducing access to and the quality of healthcare. 

She is also a radical when it comes to gender mutilation surgeries for minors, once wearing a shirt with a knife on it that read "protect trans kids."

In an interview with PBS, Flanagan said that Minnesota was a "safe place" for families of trans kids. "I should be allowed to make those decisions that protect the health of my child along with her physician.And when we see folks like Nex Benedict, who lost their life in Oklahoma, somebody needs to watch out for those kids and make sure that they're protected," she said. "I think once you have a conversation with a family who has relocated to Minnesota from Texas or Florida—and there are many families who are moving here because they want their children to be safe and to simply be able to be themselves—I think once you have those conversations with folks that are apart from the just completely false rhetoric, then you can have real connections with people and conversations."

Flanagan also has radical views on race and reparations. She champions the "Land Back Movement," a form of reparations for Native Americans, and said, "Land Back isn't just a hashtag or something you see on a t-shirt or on a flag that is being flown. It is intentional, detailed, hard work that we do together." She called Mount Rushmore a "symbol of white supremacy" and attacked Thanksgiving, writing on Instagram, "We can simultaneously hold the grief and loss that is woven into the fabric of this day with gratitude for the love of our family and our survival and connection to our ancestors."

 

Judge grants Trump permission to amend complaint in $10B BBC defamation lawsuit

A district judge has granted President Donald Trump’s Leave to File First Amended Complaint, a formal request for permission to update a lawsuit, in his legal battle against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

The BBC insisted that Trump missed the deadline to modify his complaint, but United States District Judge Roy K. Altman sided with the 47^th president on Monday.

Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the network in December, seeking $5 billion for defamation and $5 billion for alleged violations of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

“Today’s strong and thoughtful ruling is a major win for President Trump’s powerhouse lawsuit against the formerly respected and now disgraced BBC, which defamed President Trump by intentionally, maliciously and deceptively doctoring his speech in a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 Presidential Election,” a spokesperson for Trump’s legal team stated. President Trump is holding the leftist BBC, along with all of its comrades in the mainstream media, accountable for their peddling of Fake News through deception and maliciously defamatory conduct.”

 

The ruling allows Trump’s legal team to narrow the claim and limit the extent of information, including financial records, that must be released as part of the proceedings.

 The lawsuit centers around a 2024 “Panorama” documentary, titled “Trump: A Second Chance?”

The documentary had spliced together clips from Trump’s January 6, 2021 speech delivered roughly an hour apart, creating the false impression that he had urged his conservative supporters to march on the Capitol and “fight like hell” in a single breath.

You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.” He then later told his supporters to “fight like hell” for legal challenges regarding the vote.

 

The fallout from the misleading documentary triggered a major shakeup at the top of the network, forcing the resignations of BBC CEO Deborah Turness and Director-General Tim Davie. Face-to-face with legal action, BBC Chairman Samir Shah sent a personal letter to the White House apologizing to President Trump for the deceptive edit, though the network claimed it stopped short of legal liability.

“While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim,” a BBC spokesperson added.

The documentary was released one week before the 2024 presidential election took place, raising concerns that it likely intentionally swayed public opinion of Trump.

 

Because Trump originally argued that the documentary damaged his “brand, properties, and businesses,” U.S. Magistrate Judge Enjolique Lett granted the BBC’s request for corporate financial disclosures. Trump: 'Jihadists' Being Elected 'All Over the Place'

President Donald Trump said Monday that "jihadists" are being elected "all over the place," escalating his criticism of Democrats less than three months before the midterm elections.

"Well, the one thing is, we have jihadists being elected all over the place," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, without identifying specific candidates, CNN reported.

"We have this whether it's communism, jihadism," Trump added.

Trump has frequently characterized Democrats and democratic socialists as communists as Republicans seek to portray the party as moving further to the left ahead of the November elections. He has also begun using the term "jihadists" in criticizing Democrats.

Trump said a friend had suggested the term to him.

"A friend of mine called up," Trump said, recounting that the person told him, "You know, really, you should use the word jihadist because that's what's happening."

Trump said that, "as an example," some candidates he was referring to came from countries such as Somalia.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., 

 

who was born in Somalia. Trump has previously called for Omar and another Muslim member of Congress to go "back from where they came."

Trump has also sharply criticized Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, who is Muslim.

At a campaign event in Las Vegas last week, Trump called El-Sayed a "hater of Jews and hater of Israel."

El-Sayed has been a critic of the Israeli government.

Over the weekend, Trump shared an image showing himself and first lady Melania Trump alongside a photograph of El-Sayed and his wife, Sarah Jukaku, who wears a hijab. The caption read, "Two very different Americas."

 

El-Sayed responded Sunday during an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," agreeing that the photographs represented two different visions of the country while offering his own interpretation of the contrast.

"Yeah, he's right. One in which your overlords are two people who don't like each other but join in the interest of making billions of dollars off of you. Or, two people who genuinely love each other, enjoyed some pancakes together, want to come together to build the kind of America where they can raise a family and know that that family is going to have the good thing," El-Sayed said. "So, yes, you got two different visions of America."

National Republicans have also increased their criticism of El-Sayed since he won the Democrat nomination last week, including referring to him by his full name, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.

Trump has previously accused Democrats of being taken over by "godless Communists" and has portrayed communism as a growing threat to the country. Democratic socialists, while advocating policies substantially to the left of mainstream Democrats, distinguish their political philosophy from communism.
