Dead Body Found at House Owned by Squad Member Ayanna Pressley's Husband

There’s not a whole lot of information yet, but a corpse was found Saturday at a Boston-area property owned by Conan Harris, husband

 

 to Squad Member Rep. Ayanna Pressley (MA-7). The couple does not live in the house but rents it out to tenants.

Here’s what we know:

Police spokesperson James Moccia told CBS News Boston officers were called to 25 Malta Street in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood at 1:52 p.m. "for a report to investigate a person."

When they arrived, they found the person deceased, Moccia said.

Moccia did not have any further details and said the homicide unit is handling the investigation. A Boston police cruiser was seen outside the home Saturday evening and it was sealed off with red crime scene tape.

One thing that surprised me: you can apparently get a seven-bedroom house in the Boston area for $1.15 million. In California, where I reside, that might get you a nice closet. I’d move back to MA, but I’ve lived there before, and there’s no way I’m up for those winters again (no offense to our Massachusetts readers).

According to property records from the city of Boston, Pressley's husband, Conan Harris, is listed as the owner of 25 Malta Street. The property has an assessed value of $919,000.

The two-story, seven bedroom home was built in 1910 and is currently for sale. The asking price is $1.15 million.

The cops are calling it a “death investigation,” and authorities have not linked Pressley or her husband to the body. The couple has not made an official statement as of this writing, and details of the dead body’s identity — gender, name, cause of death — have not been released. Rep. Pressley was in Tennessee on Friday at an event with fellow Squad Member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) to promote progressive State Rep. Justin Pearson’s congressional campaign, but it’s unclear if she returned to Washington, D.C., or Boston.
