Sen. Darline Graham wins S.C. Senate GOP special primary runoff

U.S. Senator Darline Graham came out on top in the South Carolina Republican special primary runoff, winning approximately 52.4% of the vote with about 95% of precincts reporting, while U.S. Representative Ralph Norman received roughly 47.6%.

 

Sen. Darline Graham choked up during her victory speech while remembering her brother, the late-Sen. Lindsey Graham.

“Thank you Lindsey for your service to South Carolina and your country. It’s just not the same without you here,” she said.

South Carolina GOP Governor Henry McMaster appointed his sister, Darline Graham, to serve out the remainder of his term in the U.S. Senate. Graham replaced her brother, the late Senator Lindsey Graham, after he passed on July 11^th. 

 

Norman, a politician and real estate developer, has served as the U.S. representative for South Carolina’s 5^th congressional district since 2017.

Prior to his election to the U.S. House, the Rock Hill native served two tenures representing District 48 in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
