Trump: U.S. has entered into agreement with Denmark and Greenland that gives us permanent control over security, all other needs in Greenland — NO COST to U.S.

President Donald Trump revealed on Truth Social that the United States has finalized a strategic agreement with the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland, granting Washington permanent authority over the Arctic island’s defense, security, and related operational needs.

Disclosing the accord on social media, Trump described the arrangement as an “Infinite Life” framework designed to completely resolve long-standing American security concerns in the region.

Under the terms outlined by Trump, the U.S. will hold the unilateral power to determine and carry out all necessary actions to secure both Greenland and the United States, effectively solidifying American defense jurisdiction across the strategically vital territory.

The main pillar of the pact dictates that foreign adversaries will be strictly prohibited from maintaining a military presence, establishing strategic bases, or making sensitive infrastructural investments within Greenland without explicit prior approval from Washington.

The president emphasized that the deal comes at no financial cost to the American public and signaled that plans are already underway to expand the U.S. military footprint on the island immediately.

Defense analysts suggest the expanded footprint will support regional air and missile defense strategies, integrating Greenland more deeply into North American defense architecture alongside existing outposts like Pituffik Space Base.

 

While the White House labels the deal as a major breakthrough for Arctic defense, details surrounding its domestic implementation in Europe remain tightly guarded.

Representatives from Copenhagen and Nuuk have long insisted that Greenland’s territorial sovereignty and self-governing autonomy must be preserved, even as they sought expanded bilateral defense cooperation with Washington.

Official texts of the accord have yet to be fully released, leaving lawmakers and international observers awaiting further clarification on how permanent U.S. oversight will interface with Greenland’s local governance and Denmark’s constitutional framework.

We will immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland, of which there are many. We look forward to working with the wonderful people of Denmark and Greenland toward a magnificent future with respect to this large, and highly strategic, parcel of land.
