Ahead of the November midterm elections, President Donald Trump announced a plan to provide $90 payments to over 20 million seniors to assist with Medicare premiums. The Friday Truth Social announcement follows a previous proposal to offer $500 rebate checks to roughly one million Affordable Care Act beneficiaries. Trump has also pledged on the campaign trail to send $5,000 to every American adult if Republicans maintain control of Congress — offering substantial taxpayer relief through a $1 trillion proposal that requires congressional approval.
